bankroll management and table selection are super important, but as for the game itself, one tip I recommend is learning how to value bet. One tip that was game-changing for me when starting out was "Value bet more and bluff less."

in parallel with the courses from cardchat, I am reading a poker book from a player who has participated in many tournaments, I discovered some moments that I had not noticed before

That they play small tables since sometimes you see the prizes of the tournaments and you enter to play without experience

What to do & study

First, learn position. It’s the most important factor in poker. Learn your ranges for each position, I.e. early, middle, late. Last, when your playing, study hard your opponents. Are they loose? Are they a rock? Do they play every hand? Then adjust your play by what they do. To me, there is no expert at poker, only different styles. Most important 1)position…2) styles. Study these 2 factors, & your gonna be dangerous! Last….. no matter how good you get… never stop studying

Good Luck

Your advice is very similar to the one outlined in the book "Secrets of Poker" by Vadim Markushevsky, which I finished reading yesterday. and came to the conclusion that what you advise is really important

Well there has been a lot of good advice so far for you.
But i hope that my take can give you some more perspectives.

Rule Number 1: Always make sure that you have fun and enjoy doing whatever you are doing, no matter if it is studying or playing. Without fun your work can't be as effective as with fun.

Rule Number 2: Create and play your own game! Don't copy playstyles from other players. Even though it can help you getting to know the thoughtprocess of other players in the end it should just be used to adjust your play not completely copying it. When getting put into tough decisions it will help you, knowing that your playstyle has got you that far so you can trust on your instincts instead of making a play that you have seen others do but are not comfortable with for now because you may not fully understand why it was done in the first play.

Rule 3: Don't give up early and have endurance. Set yourself easy goals so you can achieve them. every success experience will boost your moral and will help you have the endurance when having a downswing to keep going.

Rule 4: Be disciplined and learn about bankrollmanagement Discipline is needed in many situations - mostly in bankrollmanagement. Playing smaller stakes not only helps you keep your bankroll in good health but also helps you getting used to risking money. When playing higher buy-ins some people get "money-fear" in some spots. Meaning they know that busting a tournament now can cost them a lot of money - so not only look at the buy-in of the tournament but also look at the price difference between first and 2nd place. Ask your self: Will i be comfortable playing heads-up for that amount of money? If you feel like you could be scared and not play your best poker - look for a smaller buy-in!

I have been playing poker for over 5 years and I would advise beginners to be patient and not play with junk in the first place.

I try to adhere to these rules, continue to study the literature, theory, and practice it all in free tournaments, well, sometimes there is 1 chance that my opponent is just lucky, I read his style and his cards, his thoughtless call, and a little bit of luck win me

I'm waiting for help and interesting stories on how to start playing better than you can

First of all, I would like to welcome you! I am also new to this community, and I am pleased to meet my compatriots here every time. :) I think you have chosen the best place for learning and development.
A lot of good and reasonable advice has been written to you in this post. I can only join their advice and add a little from myself:
1. First determine the purpose of your poker game. Why do you want to play and what result do you want to achieve?
2. Turn off your ambitions and don't expect to win millions right away. Your expectations must match your actual capabilities. Inflated expectations can eventually lead to serious disappointment. Therefore, move steadily, setting real goals for yourself.
3. Determine for yourself the type of game: online or live poker. It may seem that there is no difference, but this is far from the case. Live poker is much more difficult emotionally, because your opponents will be in front of you: you will see them, hear them, in fact, the same as yourself. online poker has a big advantage in this regard: the conditions are more comfortable. It should be understood that the same strategy and style of play are not suitable for both online and live games.
4. Determine which type of game is closer to you for training and development: cash, tournaments, etc. If we talk about online poker, then pay attention to the speed: which speed is convenient for you and does not cause you stress. It can be, for example, "turbo".
5. Don't play at high limits: don't try to double your bankroll quickly. Play at low or micro limits, participate in freerolls to practice.
6. Always pay attention to your position at the table.
7. Don't try to bluff until you feel confident as a player.
8. Study theory, strategies and define your own style of play for yourself. It doesn't have to be a template. You can have your own style, consisting, for example, of several generally recognized ones.
9. Be disciplined, patient and observant. Take your time and start the game by studying the behavior of your opponents at the table.
10. Do not rely only on theory, study it, but do not forget that theory is just a template. Practice is the best teacher.
And the last thing: you should enjoy the game. If you are experiencing a feeling of stress, stop. Think about why you were uncomfortable, what is the reason? After all, in this exciting game, your most important enemy is you.

Thanks everyone.
Yes, I try to do everything exactly like this, but sometimes I can't believe how lucky the last card is

Dont think this way. Its a bad habit you don't want to have. You will read about people always complaining about bad luck, then it becomes is not me, then the site is rigged, or people are cheating to some conspiracy theory. You will see people showing how its rigged, OMG my flip lost 3 times in a row. Well, you should lose 3 in a row every 8 time you have 3 flips. Ye once in 24 flips 8 time 3 you will lose 3 in a row. Poker is a math game and many people who bemoan their luck are not looking at the math or not allowing enough time for variance.

Best advice I would give you. Dont study poker. Become a student of the game of poker. Many players learn and study for a while and that's it. To really become a good player, you should always be working on the game. I have played for years and always have been a student of the game. I will study / review 1 hour for every 4 or so hours of play.

Shoot me a question if you have any. always happy to help

You gave a lot of advice, it's great, about the goal, the main goal is to play live tournaments with pro players, well, I understand that it takes a lot of practice, so I train online, while I play only for conditional money and freerolls, well, I'm not ready to start playing yet for real money, I am not yet fully confident in my abilities, and not always, I can read the enemy, sometimes I succumb to emotions too much, well, I’m working on this, so the initial stage is to prepare myself so that I can be one hundred percent sure, then I will switch to micro limits, further, developing skills I want to rise higher and higher

advice

My advice for a beginner would be to #1 learn patience and #2 play and bet your cards & don't bet your hand because you want to beat another player that might be on tilt and bets rags.

Good luck all :D

Don't start throwing larger sums of money into poker until you're confident that you have the absolute basics nailed down.

And regardless of your experience, knowledge, ability and perceived luck, don't put any amount of money into poker that you aren't willing or able to see disappear out of your account in an instant.

I've known a person or two that will chase lost cash (albeit in a casino rather than poker) and keep piling more money in to try and end up winning it back. It's a fools game to go down that road.

I always look at the money I put into poker/casino/betting etc. as a "purchase" as opposed to an investment. It's technically money that's gone and isn't coming back. If it does or I make more money off of it, then thats a bonus and NOT an expectation.

most important thing in holder is POSITION. I'll move on to the 2nd most important thing, after you master POSITION. Read books on position, you tube position, and watch video's. lemme know when your ready for the 2nd most important thing. course there will be a charge. Jonathan little makes money off coaching, Negranu has a master class they pay for.

A couple of days ago I played cash and noticed that the guys at the table, apart from the best cards like QQ KK AA AK, rarely play at all, and therefore, having gone a couple of times with connectors against their 3b raise, I could not beat them a lot, because they too believe in their manual powerful map and go to the end

It is very dangerous to engage in battle with a tight opponent! If you see that he rarely enters the pot, then basically it means that he will only play if he is confident in his hand. Having noticed such players, understand the risks of playing with them.
