I haven't play poker with play money since 2008 and 2009 when I was under 18 and hadn't a credit card Now I think it's a waste of time. The players are reckless in taking decizions with play money. As we know, that we all start off with some play money to practice and see what poker is about.
But after topping up your account with real money, do you leave out the play money? Or do you still use the play money as a way of practicing poker?

I agree with you on 100%.Poker is a game for money. Play money is not poker.

hi hiPlay money poker is purely for entertainment - you can't learn how to play poker playing with a bunch of people who have nothing invested in the game and no real reward for playing well.
Freerolls is better option than play money, freerolls will can win a real money your opponent is looking for the same thing with you... win the money otherwise on play money is only for entertainment just for play not seriously

I never practiced with play money. It doesn't play like real poker, so never felt like I was gaining any relevant experience. I might recommend it to an absolute novice to learn how the cards are dealt, hand rankings, etc, but after that it ceases to be useful in my opinion.
That said, to those that enjoy it I say good luck and have fun!
100% agree with this ^
And for those who think otherwise... what is it you're actually hoping to learn while spending time on the playchip tables?
In freeroles you can't lose real money either, that might have an effect and not be "real poker "
BUT... you can 'win' money... so there is a difference. ALso, if it's a depositor bonus freeroll, or some private freeroll, or VIP freeroll, the play is significantly better (there's higher levels of thinking going on).
Also, Gambit are you suggesting that a person can get better playing playchip vs. micro limits because at the micros they're all Nits?
