In my experience, it helped me get rid of my scared money rock/nit play, bad habits.

I have never played with play money as a way to practice poker. Unless you are learning the absolute basics, I don't see any value to helping your game but much possibility in ruining it.

The only time I would use play money for a game is to test out the software for a new poker site to see how their set up works. Even then I prefer to at least play a free roll.
