Honestly, I prefer JJ in this situation, because it's already a made pair, so if you go all-in, depending on the situation, and don't beat your opponent's hand, the victory is yours, and I believe that the chance of trips is also considerable.
Strangely many players "hate" JJ in hand, I really don't know why. Starting with pocket pair is best but if they go All In before the Flop, I prefer to have AK and may luck be with me!
I would prefer to start the game with AK over JJ. It's easier to fold AK if nothing good comes on the flop and if I hit a pair the chances are smaller that someone else will get something better, plus I have the higher kicker
I have read that JJ is the worst hand, and I believe that nobody pays allin preflop with that hand, it depends on the situation you are in if it is a tournament or you are playing cash, on the other hand AK if it is a strong hand.
JJ - dominates Tt and below. Flips with AK, AQ, KQ - dominated by AA, KK and QQ
AK - Dominates all non pairs, Dominated by AA, KK - flips with all other pairs
I think AK just pips it. i think in a post flop world where often a KQ or A hits and you struggle with JJ, AK is often more playable - thinking str8s and also an A or K high flush
That said - on the whole would prefer JJ for a shove blind vs blind
all this hands most of time play in 3-bet/4-bet pots and in big pots ur opponent have a lot premium hands
With AK we block AA and KK. have 50% with QQ and have nice chance (1of3) catch top pair on the flop with good kicker and with AKs we have nice equity for backdoor flush or FD.
With jacks not all good in 3-bet/4-bet pots bcs we dont block any pockets QQ KK AA and if flop low im not sure in this hand too
So for me better AK bcs im more sure play with it, can collect more combination and can easy click pass on reraise if flop dont mine. But with jacks very often i have a hard situations and i dont care that mathematics say AK vs JJ its coin flip. I like play postflop not bingo all-in thats why i say AK
P.S. But in push fold stack 12bb and low JJ i think better bcs its ready hand
I have warmer feelings towards AK as you are dealt it more often, and have won more big pots with it. It's more difficult to win a big pot after the flop with JJ as the hands it dominates, such as, A10 on a ten high flop, are fewer relative to AK.
