Yes, you can raise the bankroll from the freerolls, I raise the bankroll is not big, and it's very hard to raise, you need a good experience and good luck in poker to raise a big bankroll from freerolls, and most importantly, then when you win and raise the bankroll not to lose at big tournaments and cache games, you need to play cautiously and at not big tournaments and try to raise them!

ha ha a month in poker terms is nothing; it takes years and thousands of hands to master it...

I managed to create a small bankroll on pokerstars only on CardChat freerolls. I believe that on PokerStars freerolls it's difficult to create a bankroll from scratch and it will take a long time. But on the other hand, if it was easy, nobody would be making deposits.

I also play freerolls for a longer time, and made a small bankroll, but I'm very proud of it, it's nice to realize that little capital has done anything.

It works! I played poker for a long time before giving freerolls a try and once i put all of my poker study together into my game i was able to build a 100$+ bankroll from never depositing

That is amazing! Congratulations...I started playing poker online about two months ago. I had some success so I decided to study and learn and practice to get better. I also found out about Freerolls and the league In poker-school online with pokerstars. I earn free tickets and now I joined this forum so hopefully in about a months time I will be able to put my skills to the test and have similar success as you did![emoji4]

From bankroll building point of view i could advice you not to move all-in preflop with KK when 81 players left with 80 players ITM:):bawling::bawling::bawling:

It was certainly easier in the past when there were a lot more freerolls but the principles remain the same.
Just use the small amounts won to enter micro stakes sit and go's or smaller tournaments and gradually build it up to a few dollars and then to a reasonable bankroll when proper bankroll management can be employed. However even with just a few dollars it shouldn't all be staked at once.
Nobody can win every time, but with careful choice of games, good play, reasonable luck, self control and discipline it is possible to build freeroll winnings in to a bankroll.
There have been many examples already previously posted in the cardschat forum. Also for inspiration you can look through the Challenges threads.

creating a bankroll is possible, but it takes a long time to advise you to take training programs and work in your poker game to improve your skills

I totally agree with Terry! Managed several times to reach 20-40 bucks, and now I am in the zone of 50-70 ... The most important is to find the best games for you to increase further the BR.
I would not recommend cash games for that :D

Yes, it is possible but takes time. I started on nothing, won enough to withdraw and deposit, gaining deposit bonuses and depositor only freerolls. I've withdrawn $50 in 4 months, it's a slow start but it shows it's possible, I have not deposited a penny of my own money

Were you actually allowed to withdraw money without making a deposit?
Thought that was not possible.

I'm building a bankroll from scratch, playing freerolls -cardchats are the best and moving to $1-$3 tourneys. I have $200 at the moment but I'm down from $250 a month or so ago, so I have to be careful. I don't want to blow it. I'm playing on ACR and I believe you can take money out without making a deposit although I haven't done that yet.

I guess it would first depend on your definition of a bankroll. A Bankroll is technically any money you have to play with, win a dollar, you have $1 bankroll.
I think freerolls are great for that. No matter how much you win on the freerolls, I'd start with the absolute smallest buyins you can find and learn to beat those before committing more. there are adjustments to make for real money games.
So even if you are lucky enough to win $100 on your first freerolls, keep the buyins small until you can prove to yourself that you're a winning player. That's what I do

About ten years ago, I started to do this. It was considerably easier then, I think. As a Canadian, Stars was always trying to give me money. Two weeks after I signed up, I had 2 tournament tickets (from those freerolls that ran every hour or two) to small payout, huge field tourneys. I also had $30 that I won in one of two "Welcome" tourneys for new Canadian players. From there it was just grinding it up. I got bored with it and stopped when I realized that I could play live at the Reserve across the river. I never got above $200, and I took a huge shortcut with the Welcome Freeroll.

Those shortcuts don't really exist in that form anymore. The closest thing is the CC Freeroll system. I'm sort of starting to build rolls again on several sites because of the great freerolls here. If you win ten or twenty dollars on a CC freeroll, then you have something to grind with.

Also, a lot of sites are pretty tight with what they give away to new customers who don't deposit. If you deposit some small amount ($10), they will actually give you opportunities to get some "free money". It taints the "purity" of the challenge if that's really important to you, but building a bankroll from $10 is just about as impressive or unimpressive as doing it from zero.

Yes, you can build a BR from FRs, I had done so.
I had $5 or $10 and built it up playing low level SNG's, till poker got banned in the US.

If you want to stay as an MTT grinder than sure, this is viable.

If not, then all the skills you gained will mean nothing and you'll lose your cash.

Cash game grinding or single table Sit-n-go grinding are different in many ways despite being poker. You should stick to play money grinding to train the SKILLS needed to turn that real money into more money unless you seriously are going to just grind MTTs.

When I started to play (online) poker I hoped to be winning player from the start :D
So I read Phil Helmuts book on limit Holdem, deposited 70$ and started playing.
I slowly lose my BR and swear to deposit never again.
So I tried PS freerolls, but they was so crowded and payout so small, that it was hopeless to win more than some cents.
Then I used pokerstrategy sites promotions where they give you small BR if you register through them and started to play in several ipoker sites.
I remember there was freerolls and 0.01$ SNG with 10 players which was easy.
Took me abut half a year and several times restart from zero again to collect BR of ~30$.

For those who are starting without poker I think a better strategy. First you do not freeroll you play and you lose nothing and learn at the same time. There is no deposit of probability of zeroing the will is too great due to inexperience. When you make the first deposit, gain more experience by trying to build a bankroll just without a freeroll. The risk of zeroing the account is lower. Well, that's what I think. Good luck.

I did not start from the bottom initially, but I had several challenges in which I worked my way up from 2-3 dollar to 60-70 dollar.
Unfortunately have to withdraw over and over again, so basically I pretty often have to start from scratch.

What's interesting for you, is you have a number of posts which, if you stay active in the forum will pretty soon be enough to try to join the CC freeroll club.
That will make you able to play very juicy freerolls every day and all you need is a deep run in one of them to get some ground to build a roll.

These freerolls most of the times have far less then 200 players so making a deep run is very much possible.
Once having gained a few dollars you can add some $0.25 multitable sng's, which are very easy to beat.

Coincidentally, last week had to withdraw about all from Pokerstars.
Yesterday, with only 21 cents left in my account I won the CC freeroll, so now it's already a bit more then $ 20.
With that I will play multitable sng's trying to build a decent roll again.

So, for this thread's sake I'll show you the results, hoping to show you it is indeed possible to build a roll from scratch.
