That is definitely not true. Historically it was a man's game and it still has not come full circle though a long way for sure. Men played poker with their buddies growing up, in college etc - very few women were offered opportunities to play.
I may not have ever started playing online if it were not for my husband playing first.
Most of the new female poker players in the past 5-10 years are young - the generations before them had far less exposure to poker and it will be a long time before that is lost.
Yeah, sure it has. Because of the wimmins, we can't smoke cigars any more. No more cussin, and farting. Stud is an also ran, the fighting and robberies.... all gone. Everything's changed man. That is definitely not true. Historically it was a man's game and it still has not come full circle though a long way for sure.

A celeb would be great exposure. Some basketball player - The Truth, maybe? I don't know anything about the game- made it deep in the 10k PLO.
Yeah It would be awesome to see Matt Damon, and Johnny Chan heads up final table . Wow that would be priceless.I would love to see a famous actor make it to the final table
Paul Pierce didn't made the cash and is a total fish.
Does anyone feel that the mathematical aspect of poker has anything to do with the scarcity of women playing the game? As an engineering major, I frequently am in classes of 30+ people, which often will have only 1-3 women or even none at all. The math in poker is trivial compared to engineering, but I was curious if this had anything to do with making the game less appealing to women, or if it was just the overall nature of the game.
I've peeked into classrooms on the "other" side of campus, the gender ratio is the other way around for classes like psychology and other soft sciences. Those classes will often be 75%+ women, and it's likely that the men are just there for general ed requirements and not majoring in the subject.
and this makes 2 for this year!

This thread became more of women vs men than WSOP main event :\ So anyone knows if they are gonna livestream the event and where I can watch it (outside America, online if possible)!
There is no final table streaming of the main event. The weekly ESPN shows will air in the US and can usually be found on YouTube. The final table will be shown live online and on tv in some areas.
