I like to break off aggressive players who pretend to have a ROYAL FLUSH with a weak hand

a calm environment with good music not so loud without anyone around to take my concentration is what makes me feel good when I play ... in other words this place is my room

A lot of traffic on this site deals with feeling bad about certain aspects of this game.

I got sucked out on when I was winning.
I got bad beat.
I got it in good and lost on the river.
It's rigged!
Bots
I lost my entire bankroll in less than 4 hours.
etc etc.

I'm interested in finding what unique aspects of this terrible/awesome game - players find enjoyable.
What are certain aspects of the game that are euphoric?

I play tournaments exclusively. Generally I really enjoy playing the game of poker. Even with all the negative stuff that every player has experienced, even when getting 2 outed on the final table bubble, even when my Aces up boat gets destroyed by quads - I still really enjoy playing poker.

Certain aspects of the game bring greater enjoyment to me - much more than just the general, every day enjoyment I get from playing the game.

I receive great pleasure from
1. Winning hands vs passive, slow playing, trappy players.
2. Making an instinctive winning hero call on the river when the math say I should fold.
3. Folding a strong hand A/Q+, 99+ preflop and not regretting it.
4. Correctly avoiding the temptation to shove on the flop when I flop the nuts.
5. Making a crying call pre/post based on notes I have taken - and being correct.
6. Collecting chips from and/or busting players who play overly aggressive.
7. Of course final table.
8. Of course - finishing top 3.

What are some aspects of the game that bring greater pleasure to you - beyond the general enjoyment of playing the game?

I feel great when I make a well thought out play the works, whether it's a big fold or a big call. I really enjoy putting the pieces together, analyzing the statistics, bet sizes and all the information I have been given throughout a hand to make the right play.

It's especially satisfying when I set a trap and my opponent falls into it. Whether it's checking the river to induce a bluff, or flatting with a big hand preflop when facing a 3-bet to have my opponent barrel off with a pure bluff.

The same good feeling goes with playing back at someone when they are light and eeking out a fold with a hand that had very little (or no) equity in the pot :captain:

It's always fun to take an unorthodox line that leads to you have a hand 'you can't possibly have' and as a result getting paid off. An example is making it look like you've 'capped your range' when indeed you actually have the goods :)

winning tournaments feels good as well, but there's so much luck involved in that that I don't like to make it a primary source of pleasure. For me making great decisions is what makes me feel great. (as an aside, when I answer someone's question on twitch and it helps them get a new understanding of something that also feels like a big win to me :))

When I read the opponent, and bloody so I play my hand as profitable as possible, or I will easily fold it.

what makes poker exciting is winning and bluffing being able to make someone lay down the best hand

When I read the opponent, and bloody so I play my hand as profitable as possible, or I will easily fold it.

some players are easy to read to aggressive and dont fold often

I really enjoy winning all ins pre flop. I don’t do it unless I have aces kings or am low stacked or I’m on tilt but I really love it.

The Good Aspects

There are several things I like about this game.

First and foremost, it's a game you can spend a life time playing and never stop learning. It has been said that playing the players is just as important, if not more important, than playing the cards. And another saying goes: once you think you know it all, that's when everyone else passes you up.

It's okay to lie. That is soo cool. One can dispense with the scruples of truth and honesty and actually be respected for it. It's a mindset I seldom experience in the world away from poker, being the honest gent I am. And yes, I've been cussed out a few times at the poker tables, mostly in brick and mortar casinos and maybe a few times online, but that's cool too.

The game is not based purely on luck. Don't get me wrong. Luck is good. But once I learned the other aspects of the game, skill and management, is when my bankrolls started growing. Management probably had more to do with that than skill. And regarding luck I'll quote one of my favorite authors, Steinbeck: If we lived long enough we would all have the same amount of luck. We just don't live long enough.

It's true, we can't always win. And it would probably get boring if we did.

* Knocking out every dislikable person during cc events *
I don't quite understand what you mean by 'unpleasant people' (maybe it's a translation error). But at CardsChat events, we are all opponents fighting in the green arena to devour each other to the end. So, deep down ,,,,
We are all unpleasant!
We are all friends!
We are all poker lovers!

I'm not a veteran. I am a player who left the fictional tables for real money just over 6 months ago. I won a CC freeroll on PS and made it to some final tables. Was very good!
But what makes me happy even at Poker is seeing a steady growth in the game. Every day I sit in front of the computer and say to my inner maniac: "Leave me alone. I will play poker and you will not disturb me." It has been working more and more.
Even though I haven't won any prizes for a while, I feel like I'm on the right track.
Victories will come!

Winning flips makes me feel great. Obviously you have to run good to make deep runs and win tourneys, so winning big flips is one of the best feelings in the world.

I make the FT a fair amount, but often times I'll get there in a destroyed fashion (but still FT is worthy of something). What makes me feel good is when I get there and have the discipline to patiently wait for my spots as short stack and ultimately get to a heads up scenario being the half stack where I take it down.

I guess I've heard it before, "got a chip, got a chance." I've done this more times than I ever thought possible, but it just goes to show that if you've got some skill and some decent luck it's definitely possible. It makes me feel awesome every time I do it. That being said, sometimes just getting to the other side of the bubble is enough to make me feel good when things are on a downtrend.

What makes you feel great when playing

It always makes me feel great when I win. I think that is a no-brainer, but I enjoy the thrill and excitement of having 4 of kind and then watching the players up the ante, they are feeling so confident that they are going to win the pot, only to lose it. :D

Surely the best thing is to wait for that message about when you won something haha then another thing that makes me feel good is when the bubble passed there is nothing like knowing that you are already in prize!

What makes you feel great while playing

Hello.
Most of all I like to create traps for aggressive players who play everything in a row. This wonderful feeling always gives me pleasure.

There are some very aggressive players out there! How do you create a trap? Im intrigued to learn! :)
