i preffer tournaments but i really cant find an answer to it. maybe because i think its a lot more harder to win a tournament than to win manoey at a cash game. i think i play more for the chllenge than for the money. Of course i want to win the money, but to me its like when you get to the final table its already a win. you beat like 500 800 sometimes more than a 1000 players and you are in the last 9. thats freaking cool

I alternate tournaments and cash games. Tournaments are constantly difficult to win.

I, personally, don't bother with cash games. Only tournaments interest me. If you enjoy sitting down for a few minutes, playing a bit of poker, and leaving with whatever profit/losses you have, then cash games are probably better for you. If you have more time (4-6 hours), you can sign up for regular speed tournaments and have some great success. Essentially, if you like the sprint then go for cash games, if you enjoy marathons go for tournaments. At first, play a bit of both to see what you enjoy - but it's certainly better to specialise in one or the other.

In normal days, only cash games. At the weekend, you can dilute the tournaments.

You can earn more money in the cache, but tournament poker is more difficult and much more interesting because of the dynamics. The cache is very boring. In addition, in the cache, you can not win a lot of money at once. Therefore, I believe that tournament poker is much more promising than cache.

I love both. The question is that in tournaments you are constantly in suspense. But in the cash games need a quotation.

Cash game is easier way to win quick cash but you can also loose. More fun game is tournament because it's more players and when you have your day, can win bigger cash.

There are pros/cons to each. I started as a cash game player and have become mostly a tournament player, but there are definitely aspects of cash games that I miss. For one, I enjoy playing hands all the way to the river. In a tournament, play tends to turn into shove fests and few hands ever make it to the turn. However, if you can't play often (like me, no internet poker in my state) and enjoy taking a shot at a big cash, then tournaments will probably work out better.

Cash Games:
- Flexible, start/stop when you want
- Blinds don't increase so you can wait for great hands and also call with most speculative hands to hit a monster
- You can generally play hands all the way to the river
- Bankrolls generally increases slowly. You aren't going to win a huge payout like in a tournament. Even on a great night, it's hard to increase your stack beyond 3X - 4X.

Tournaments:
- Must set aside hours, possibly over multiple-days
- Blinds escalate fairly quickly, causing you to make riskier moves
- Unless you happen to build a huge stack quickly, the game generally turns into a short-stack game where most of the action is either pre-flop or on the flop.
- Expect to cash rarely, but hopefully those cashes are big ones
- Play tends to be wilder since a players' loss is limited to their buy-in

Eazy come, eazy go, I don't have great experiences with cash game Omaha, in te first try, I've gone to hel and back, gone to hell and back in minute time, and on my second try, I've crashed my car right in the front of the poker house (it was a signal) and yet I've played the Cash Game, I was tilted, and the end, I don't need to tell you....

For me it's tournaments, I love playing and if I had no regard for money and had so much it had lost value in every day life then I would be at the cash tables day and night... Or even buy in live tournaments... But I have little money and each penny gets me by so I'm pretty much hitting the freerolls every chance I get...

Hi all, I do like playing tournament games. Would it be more profitable if say you pay the lesser buy ins with more players? What of the all the odds long-term money making ?

Some people likes one more than another. They have - and +.
Tournaments + is that you pay once and play with chips.
Tournaments - is the time you must spend at tournament to take good place and win money.
Cash games + is that you can quit if you want without loosing money if you won more than buy in to the table.
Cash games - You can loose all your bankroll at once :D

I started playing for real money. but I'm bored. There's no big action.
I started learning a poker tournament and he captured me. I feel and see that I improve the game. tournament poker+, but the difference in it is more than in the game for real money. variance is greater

I play tournaments online to pass the time and improve my play and $2-4 at the casino for profit. Seems to work for me.

My opinion

I think the reason The pros don't play cash games cause they can avoid the hit and run. Cash games happen like that a lot.

I'd rather play SnG or small MTT on-line based on ROI. Live though, it is cash games. Go with what got you there.

I just like tournaments more, that's why I play them more. And what is better for winning money, I did not understand, because I am more to lose than to win)

Cash game and tournaments are very different and they have their advantages and disadvantages! I think that tournaments are much harder to learn to play because in tournaments the game goes from 200bb to 10bb and in the cash game you always play with 100bb stack
