Hello.
I agree with you. I also prefer tournaments. Usually cash games brought me only losses.

Most of my playing time I play in tournaments, but sometimes if I have little time or just don't want to start playing in a "long" tournament, I play in "micro-limits" zoom !!!

Hello friends!
I would like you to tell me what you like more: tournament or cashgame.
I particularly prefer to play tournaments because in them we have greater control of the money will be invested. However, cashgame we are free to come and go any time you want. Already in the tournament we were stuck for long periods.
What do you think?
By far I prefer tournaments, because of what you say we have better control of the bank.:)

For beginners the best is tournaments

Hello Claudinum.
I think that all beginners should start in micro tournaments, mainly because they are learning, as evolution can risk in micro cash games. In cash games, going on tilt and losing control of the bankroll is complicated.
As I am a beginner, I prefer turbo tournaments.

I really like playing tournaments, but they tend to go on too long for me to be able to play. Cash games seem to lack the progression factor and variety that tournaments have so I get bored after a little while.

I prefer tournaments for sure! cash game is for those who have a lot of money.
If everything is done correctly with a one or two buy-in can be a good way to get up. I like my meager bankroll tripled in 40 minutes.
Another thing tournaments through satellites where you can qualify for even one penny, but you need to be lucky and semi-pro at the same time. And of course, be available to a very, very long time for the game.

Im confused

The truth is that I still haven't decided what I like the most personally, I see cash games more profitable, but I love playing tournaments, I'm not doing bad there, but I still haven't decided, and they say it's bad to be between the two

I prefer tournaments more because I have the chance to wim many times the amount of my buy ins. In the oposite side in cash you can win in one day smaller amounts.

it's true, there are these two factors of being stuck for a certain amount of time, and cash games if you win to withdraw, but other game dynamics influence both, the preference goes to each player, I believe if a player plays tournament and is prepared to play for a long time, there is no problem to play cash games in a long time, but on the contrary it can be more complicated.
I play indifferently myself. playing poker that is the situation. : D even betting beans!

I think these are two completely different disciplines with different psychological approaches, I like to play tournaments because it depends on you more, in the game of cash people can make rash decisions and move you then that they have a real money Bank in their eyes, this is my opinion )

I like both a lot, cashgames I more perceive like "going to the Job", it is a way to make some (sometimes) easy Little Money. But tournaments is of Course the bigger pot. However, on tournaments I've just won a Play Money Tournament..from 1500 People, I got 1st and won 1.6 Mio. Play Money :D wish it had been real Money though..

But I will continue trying to win in freerolls and micro stake tournaments with real money ;-) I guess it gives you an edge if you are aware of the different tournament phases and how to play in them...(beginning, middle, bubble, final..)

You should play what you enjoy the most. Yes the games are the same but the strategy in tournament poker late in the game are different that in cash games. You should look at the older post here and see what would be the best strategy to help you deeper in the events.

If you are looking to just play poker with the chance of getting a big pay day, tournaments are great.
If you are good enough, then cash games can be source of steady income.
For me, cash games peppered with tournaments is very good.

I used to play cash games back in the early 2000's. It was "ez" (its never ez).

After some time and analysis, decided rake and performance was better in tourneys, and then I started to lose...

I prefer tournaments because they are scheduled and they have more potentials of big profits. They are also safer for our money. You buy-in and you know that this buy-in is your expend and you play with more freedom.:star:

Personally I prefer tournaments but that's just because I have a lot of patience and tournament play really coincides with that. There is also a great oppurtunity to win big $$. Although I do play a good amount of cash because I believe that's how you sustain a living being a poker player. Cash games give you a chance to make a steady income weekly. While also helping you build your roll enough to take shots at that big money in tournaments.

Tournaments

I like tournaments better than cash games because the payout can be a lot bigger.

Between tournament and cash, I prefer the tournament, so the cash you can control to stop anytime you want. MTTs you sometimes play for hours to pull small prizes, not to mention that the variance is very high, the cash you can win and quit or stop when you're losing too. So I think that both have a positive and negative side.

I really prefer tournaments. While tournaments contain much more variance than cash, I just find tournaments more enjoyable for hours on end.
