So i finf myself today in tilted state that has affected ever game i have played today, how can i get away from the curse of tilt :(

The best a player can do, in my opinion, is to identify that you are "tilted" (apparently you are able to do this) . Once you realize that you are not playing your best you should either take a short break to get your emotions under control. If you can't "fix" this immediately, I would suggest ending the session for that day. There is no reason to continue the session if you are going to make emotional decisions.

I am sure that meditation helps the best in such cases. But if you do not practice meditation, then a regular walk also helps to recover well.

Actually getting into it, very new it though, a female recently introduced me to " the bubble effect" to remove unwanted energy

Once you tilt. finish the games you're in and close the poker site and do something else and take the break, at least 1 day i would recommend.

maybe play lower stakes aswell and use the money you can lose to avoid tilt.

also try to play a few games a day and not more than what you set your own limits with.

maybe try to listening to music works for me also makes me play better.

gl on your journey to not tilt. :)

Many thanks :)

First thing is take a break from poker. Going outside helps calm me. If your bankroll is hurting, do some studying on poker. Remember, if you didn't have people making bad plays, there wouldnt be winning players. It isnt easy to be consistantly 10 percent better than every table.

There are various meditative practices, and almost every one of them is effective, the main thing is that you are focused on achieving the desired result.

I think the best thing would be for you to rest 2 or 3 days and distract yourself with other things that you like. Do not worry, with perseverance you will recover. Good luck!

you just need not to play further. all this is part of the game and it happens that nothing depends on us, today I lost 2 times with aa and immediately forgot these game situations. because I know that with aa I will win more often than lose))).

Simply do not play. If you continue to play, most likely it wont happen like you improve and calm down. Most likely that will not happen.

Thanks for the advise, this is also appreciated.

Ps. Always liked that funny quote "if you call, ill show"

I also show my hand alot when im winning which im trying to stop.

LOL, thank you. The full quote "If I shove and you call, I'll show" is just a little subtle poker humor in an all-in situation before the river.

If you are going to win the hand at showdown, you have to show your cards, though I'm sure you know that already. But I think I see what you mean, in that you are trying to stop showing your hands if you induce a fold and you DON'T have to show. I rarely, if ever show the winning hand if I win a pot before showdown.

Best of luck in your poker endeavors.

This is an excellent point here Lena!!! One should NOT underestimate the value of doing some form of exercise. It will help clear your head, and aside from the obvious physical benefits to exercise, the other benefits, which aren't seen by the naked eye are also extremely important.

Forget about poker! And not to remember for a few days!

Yes, sometimes just pulling the plug on poker is sound advice. If we are so hyper-focused on playing and studying all the time, you'll burn yourself out. It helps to have some form of balance in your life, such as having other hobbies, being around people whose company you enjoy (family/friends), or, as I mentioned above, exercising.

Then, after a few days have passed, you'll be back at the tables, feeling refreshed and ready to play and make the best decisions possible for whatever situations arise.

Hey mate!

Tilt is super tough, but definitely something that can be overcome in both the short run and the long run. When I was early in my career I found the higher limits I was playing and the longer hours (and lack of nutrition) I was playing often led me to tilt.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jyUOQ91cpy8

Another thing that was very important to be in being able to overcome tilt and play better was to take care of everything else in life that was stressing me before I sat down to play. (This is much more involved work, but it's super worth doing and has SO MUCH BENEFIT!)

Finally, if you're looking for a nice read which really settles the nerves and helps you realize that you're not alone in this issue. Along with many solutions on top of those that have been shared in this thread, then this book will change your life!

Hope you are able to overcoming your challenges and experience more success and happiness in life as a result. Good luck & Happy stackin my friend!

I watch both videos, excellent advice, enjoyed watching. Also downloaded the PDF on mtts, I'menjoying the read, thanks again for sharing.

We will usually switch spots and the other person (a couple) will continue the game if one person is getting too frustrated, helps mess /w other people tracking playing style too

IMO you should only be tilted if you lose money for the YEAR, keep records. Variance makes the game go any which way, so my advice..if you do stupidly tilt, do it at the end of the year if you lost overall. Pretty simple:)

Take a break. Analyse the tilting hand. Find similar situation to the tilting hand and see whether it was variance or whether you made a mistake. If the latter, learn WHY, you made that mistake. Hopefully in the future if that happens, you'll understand it's part of the game, called variance.

The best way to get away from it is to start to play right, bring the breathing and heart bit to the normal levels as the time cures every little thing, like tilt. You know this is easy to understand difficult to follow as to following the old and long right way. The coldest the player the better he is and the least affected by a possible tilt.
