I think you should never play with high expectations, if you just make the correct moves and readings, if villain gave luck is part of the game. But in correct attitudes the next time the villain may end up not counting on luck.

AFTER LOSING MY I get 30 to 40 minutes of anger mixed with frustration ....
In some occasions I do it with more tranquility since I always say that when it has to be sera ... many times when I leave the tournaments with good hands and well played I leave knowing that I did the best, but it was not for me That according to my performance I withdraw.

I figure it is just a game, you have to lose sometimes. If I lose with the better hand , hey I lost and I had the best going. I can't do anymore when I start out with the best hand. When I make a bad play, bad read or just plan bad at all. It's own me to figure out what I did wrong.

As a tournament player, when i am focused on a tourney and playing well, Things happen and i later think about why i should have folded the JJ and things of that nature. It should make me a better player thinking about what went wrong but at the same time the outcome is out of my hands.

If you are knocked out of a tournament that you had high hopes for, do you have anger and resentment? Or do you understand that everything is to blame for everything, even if you are just not lucky and try to understand your mistakes? I think that you need to be able to leave beautifully, but what do you think?
I think the one thing to remember is that it is normally not personal.
Everyone wants to win !

No, if the cause of the loss is that something that only happens a minority if times occurred then I don't feel bad at the game, just have to toughen up (especially harsh if it's bubble or almost bubble position).

If it was due to me gambling something that only happens a minority of times or coinflipping and it not paying off for me, then I resent myself a little bit for taking the risk and take some introspecting time.

I do play tournaments, I just don't rely on them for my income because cash games are the way to go.

Who has not had this resentment by losing?
We often take the tournament as a Formula 1 rider, carefully, but out of nowhere things happen and everything is over, very frustrating

I would not say i get angry but i am disappointed if I am put out of a tournament that i really had high hopes for. Its not a feeling that lasts too long, because I know that poker is not strictly a skill game and sometimes donkeys get lucky

Lost ? Ball forward, and let's look at our mistakes so we do not commit them in the next game.
Even the best ones are apt to lose, even more so in poker that there is a great variance.

When I lose, I feel upset. That feeling mostly comes from knowing I made some bonehead plays. So after a brief period of mourning my losses I'm slowly starting to learn to look back at those moments as chances to improve my game. It's tough, especially since I'm pretty sure no one likes to lose. But it sounds like you've made peace with said anger and resentment, so game on brother! :)

I do not worry if I lose. Poker is a game where you can win, or you can lose.

I'll kick the door open at whatever casino I'm at then punch my steering wheel repeatedly. Then i feel shame for about 24 hours and wake up with a poker hangover. Reflect if I played perfect or not. play cash the next day and forget about it.

Anger after losing

I've consistently become angry after losing big hands in cash games when I didn't do everything right but the odds were in my favor. I always wonder if I could have done things a little bit differently to get someone to fold that bad hand that luckily hit for them, but I guess in the long run if they keep making those mistakes they will definitely lose to you more often then not. Still hard not to be frustrated or resent how you played or even that person.

I definitely used to have anger/resentment issues. Used to get mad and berate players as they stacked my chips. I learned how to manage and understand that I WANTED players getting in so badly, that they had to get lucky for sure. This took a lot of time, maybe time away from tournament poker, but now I can certainly laugh about losing, and know all we can try to do is get it in good, everytime...

I do get upset or angry depending on the situation. Just last week, I double bubbled in a large live tournament with $150k prize pool. I was not short stack, the blinds were 1500/3000 and I raised to 15k with AK. Small blind decided and announced "Oh why not".....famous last words.
Caught my A on the flop along with 3 Hearts, and of course my K is the heart.
Small blind ships it....I tank and I just cant imagine he has a better hand.
Turns out he called 15k with J2 of hearts and I could not catch a 4th heart.
I was angry at his stupid play and that he got rewarded. I think back and realize I did what I should have done and you can't fight stupid. Some people are just going to get lucky and suckout and you just can't stop then.
So.....on to the next tournament I go and take it down with fire. =)
