Poker and alcohol

Now I’ve completely given up alcohol (for now 4 months), I haven’t played better, I just feel better physically, but psychologically it’s not very good. If you can control yourself in drinking alcohol, sometimes for the sake of pleasure you can allow yourself to combine alcohol and poker, because poker not a sport

I dont really drink alcohol during poker. Think its kind of sad if Im all alone in front of a computer drinking by myself. If I were at my mates place for example tho, and we all chillin, then I might pop some glasses of wine. Otherwise nah no alcohol.

I don't drink, so it's hard to say anything about it, but when I'm playing live, I watch those who are drinking, they talk too much, they lose track of time, I've even seen one sleep or pass out

Poker and alcohol are bad combinations, you shouldn't drink to have a good level of tournament play, so I recommend not drinking alcohol while playing poker.

I don't drink. I used to drink, and I think I drank too often and too much. I don't drink now. Alcohol gives you the opportunity to relax, but you shouldn't relax while playing poker, because you can pay dearly for it

Alcohol can only help in poker in small amounts. I, for example, always drank no more than 0.5 liters of light lager when I played in tournaments or cash games (in poker clubs before the war, not online). That's exactly how much I needed to play well.

I do not see it as very reasonable to consume alcohol in a poker game, whether live or online, since I think it will in some way affect the decisions to be made in certain hands and many times, perhaps very serious errors will be made.

I will drink a couple of beer every onve in awhile when playing but any more than that and I don't play my best game. I play to loose and aggressive and it doesn't work for me.

As i was a heavy drinker until a couple of years ago, i can say that Alcohol HEAVILY and NEGATIVELY affects everything in life (poker included)
So it was the best decision in my life to quit drinking for good.

Alcohol is fine in small amounts, but after that you're just asking to make a stupid mistake. I tested it and I don't recommend it.

I usually have either coffee, water or some scotch. Never enough scotch to affect my play though. Just for sipping really but over the course of a 6-8 hour MTT I have 3-4 drinks spaced out. Not a big drinker but like to have some scotch now and again. Hennessey is also a favorite of mine.

I do not recommend mixing gambling and alcohol, especially if you're not playing in a casino. People tend to not be able to handle defeat with alcohol in their blood, it only causes problems.
