when watching live poker stream like hustler casino and when players have a bit too much to drink it make the game more interesting with loose call or betting big with nothing. good for entertainment.

Drinking and poker definitely do not mix. This is a mental game. The strongest minds win in the long run. There are many ways that this "strength" can be measured. One of the most important ways is self-discipline, I don't drink when i play.

I do drink white wine and sparkling wine, but really just a little bit.
It has a pleasant high that doesn´t affect me in any bad way, other than that it helps me to calm down and relax.
I would never drink much alcohol while playing for money though.

During the game, I like to drink coffee or tea, sometimes juices. I don't drink alcohol for many years. In my opinion, alcohol has a negative effect on concentration and the ability to analyze. If you play while drinking alcohol, be careful

Just like life a drink or two can be fine but anymore and your inhibitions decrease and are uncontrolled.

If I am playing with friends it is more of a social gathering so we enjoy a drink and the stakes are limited but I have seen people lose more than they should.

I have played after too many drinks before online and then look at my hand histories the day after to realise the playing style in ludicrous so don't do it anymore.

Chris Moneymaker mentioned he used to play drunk and never knew if he had $70k or $0 in his account the morning after.

Not for me anymore if I am playing seriously.

Seems a fine line of being fine, to punting it off. My biggest win. Tbf, came when I was plastered. I do tilt a bit quicker when I am drinking a second bottle of wine, one seems fine, its the second that gets me usually.

I do when playing live, and it is usually rum and Coke. Once in awhile while playing online I will have some rum mixed with V8 Spicy Hot.

I think that if you are serious about the game, then any alcohol is unacceptable. But if you just want to have fun and can afford to lose some money, then take what you like best.

poker and alcohol are incompatible. If the drinking starts, it's not poker anymore, it's a casino.

I treat Drinking and Poker like I treat Drinking and Driving, I never mix the two, There is a reason why it is Illegal to Drive While you are under the Influence of Alcohol, So rather than risk getting caught I do not even have one drink before I drive. The reason being everyone gets Inebriated at different levels, For some people it could be 10 Pints for others just a couple would put them over the limit, so why risk it?
Has anyone heard of the term "Dutch Courage". I know what it means, being under the influence of Alcohol, makes you Brave and unafraid of anything but Where the term originates from is a mystery?
What I do know is that Alcohol Dulls the senses and can lead to bad Decisions, That is why it is dangerous to Drink and Drive, and is Illegal. Likewise mixing any form of gambling while you are drunk can lead to bad judgement and poor decisions.

when playing poker, I don't drink alcohol at all and have never drunk in my life either. So I'm far from alcoholism. I just play poker and try to win more money to make my life better than it is now and I'm not going to drink at all better exercise than drinking vodka

Personally, I think that alcohol is not recommended because it can alter your self-control. Of course, small doses didn't affect it, but generally those who drink aren't content with drinking little. But that's everyone's choice.
