If you know nothing about poker and just want to learn the rules then yeah, sure, play money is fine. In general though, when money isn't involved, it's an entirely different game altogether. In fact, I'd argue that freerolls aren't exactly a great idea either, at least most of them aren't--they're hypers, with thousands of players, and all you can do is shove/fold.

As previous people have said, you will have a hard time finding play money games that people take seriously. There will be a lot more all ins than there typically are in real money games

Yeah, it's ok, I would even say very well, i love to play there.
There the player is learning how to fold and so on...

No big difrence from the "real money" - the fellas from big stakes playng monsterly (if I underestimate them, I take the damage). Everything is there... (one exception only; you cannot withdraw the money you have won.) the fish, the donks, the sharks, the nits, the bluffers, everything... the bad beats, the all in's preflop...(I've made visual comparisons between real and non-real money play: in real money I've seen A5o all-in before the flop for example, strange things happen there.)

It is good place for practice. In my opinion, if someone can't play there, he won't be able to play for real money either. (nothing personal 🙏)

I used to play for real money (cash table), but there came a point, where I realized I just wasn't ready. :)

Welcome to the world of poker!
Yes, it's an amazing world full of emotion.
But you have a long way to go to your first withdrawal.
Some tips: Poker is a game of strategy with a mathematical foundation, so your first job is to understand the math of the game.
The first point is to learn to count outs, learn to know your odds and what would be pot odds.
Once that's solid, you'll have a huge advantage in the most basic freerolls. Then, learn about range and your positions at the table.
Once that's done, you'll learn to frame your opponents' possible hands.
That way, you can accumulate some small amount.
Poker takes a lifetime of study, be focused and patient and you will see results.

In my point of view, it's just a hobby or for you to learn about the types of moves that can be made. After all, it's worth nothing.

it's good practice and costs nothing, but playing for real money is a completely different experience
