Unfortunately, only four can be played on your desktop. That's drawbacks.

You have to jump through too many hoops just now to play real money online poker in New York but I use my tablet to play at "play money" sites like pokerstars and Zynga, and wsop all the time. It is an ideal format since you are not tied to a desk or table or a heavy laptop. I love mine.

tablet is stable or not
your network connectivity is good or not
and...what is your edge against all player on your table?

if all are good that is good.
if not good, i don't think if you switch to a PC is good.

but I do like play with PC, because the screen is big enough to browsing CardsChat, play some music, TV shows, and watch some sports during the break

I play on my phone on the bus to and from work. The only problem is all the stimuli coming from your surroundings and the 3g blind spots.

If you want to switch from PC to tablet I dont recommend it If you play poker more "seriously". But Its definitively better than smartphone if you cant play on your PC.

Tablet is very handy , I play on it can open 4 tables at once . only down part it switches to the one where the timer pops so it can distract you play carefully on it and it will be your best friend I play allot on the bus and trains since I started at home but needed to keep playing the MTT longer than 6 hours sometimes

Buying one will make your life easier on allot things even on other things than poker

I like to play freerolls on my iPad, but at cash games it's a disatvantage because you can only play four tables at once with no hud.

However, a Windows tablet would be much better as you could install the desktop version of the Poker client and use a tracking software.

I found it very interesting because of accessibility, you may be accessing and playing in most places where it will, however, a limited number of tables ... four of them don `t mind me. Otherwise it is very good.

Regarding tablets I (for a second option over a desktop/laptop) I would recommend an iPad Mini over a Windows Tablet or a full-sized iPad.

My reasons being:

-If you're playing on a tablet than I am assuming it's for a quick game here or there, taking it to an appointment with you to play while waiting, etc., so the smaller size of the mini is a huge plus as it's just the right size to play comfortably but is not a burden to transport. I recently gave up a full-sized iPad in lieu of a mini because the full-size is almost as large as carrying around a laptop.

-iPad vs. Windows: PokerStars software is very, very good on iPad, designed for touch screen and works 99% of the time without issue. You may find that using the Windows software on a touchscreen tablet will cause some frustration navigating mouse and keyboard software on a touchscreen tablet.

I mainly use the iPad if I want to lay down and play or take it to work and take in a SnG over lunch it's great for those types of scenarios.

On another note, if you're looking for Windows/Computer capabilities in an iPad then don't bother with it. Apple likes to force consumers to think that an iPad is a suitable replacement for Windows capabilities and it's definitely not.
