Regarding tablets I (for a second option over a desktop/laptop) I would recommend an iPad Mini over a Windows Tablet or a full-sized iPad.
My reasons being:
-If you're playing on a tablet than I am assuming it's for a quick game here or there, taking it to an appointment with you to play while waiting, etc., so the smaller size of the mini is a huge plus as it's just the right size to play comfortably but is not a burden to transport. I recently gave up a full-sized iPad in lieu of a mini because the full-size is almost as large as carrying around a laptop.
-iPad vs. Windows: PokerStars software is very, very good on iPad, designed for touch screen and works 99% of the time without issue. You may find that using the Windows software on a touchscreen tablet will cause some frustration navigating mouse and keyboard software on a touchscreen tablet.
I mainly use the iPad if I want to lay down and play or take it to work and take in a SnG over lunch it's great for those types of scenarios.
On another note, if you're looking for Windows/Computer capabilities in an iPad then don't bother with it. Apple likes to force consumers to think that an iPad is a suitable replacement for Windows capabilities and it's definitely not.
