yes definitely, not each player plays for the main goal of "profit making." There are tons out there who just like the euphoria and adrenaline involved in the game. For those, it is a sort of habit, or more like "hobby." They simply enjoy the game more than making profit. It all depends on what you think of the game and why you play the game.....

Of course I'll still play. Your odds in holdem tables is 10%. You need to define losing. Did you fold a better hand some of the time. Statisticly you should have 1 or 2 winning hands out of every 20 hands dealt. You just need to hope someone is risky enough to call your raise.

I was a losing player for my first ~3 years until I stopped trying to make money from poker. Funny how things work sometimes :D

this thead is foolish! most poker players are losing, its humanly impossible if alot of people are profiting, ur acting like aton of people here make money and that is a fallacy.

i play just because i enjoy the game, if u take poker serious then your just setting urself up for failure.
There are quite alot of people that actually break even also though! It's not winning, but it's better than losing. Especially if is just a hobbie or for fun.

I'm definitely a losing player as I've probably blown $20k plus online over the last 15 years or so, but in MTTs where as we know, variance will crush you every time. Do I love to play? Hell yes. Do I believe I'd be a winning player in cash games with the right BR management in micro stakes? Also yes. Do I have time to play most weeks? Barely. That's why I play MTTs. While I consider myself a better player than most, I surely have leaks in my game, but not the time to study it well enough to close the gaps I have at this time. In short, I'm a losing player and will continue to play for the love of the game, and smile proudly when I do win online. I'll also play live MTTs whenever I can afford to do so because while it's even rarer that I have time to do so, I usually do pretty well when playing live, but I simply can't justify playing so regularly live with my other obligations to consider doing it on a weekly, let alone monthly basis.

Regards,

Your friendly neighborhood yuppie.

There is no losing player, there is only a poker player, losing or winning is part of this game and also depends on the player's luck in receiving the cards.

I disagree, after X number of hands, you either have increased or decreased your total.
Phil Ivey is a winning player, obviously.

Playing more real money poker to get back what we lost is ot a good solution if we are a losing player. It look like a gambling addiction problem.

I think I would take a break for some time and concentrate myself on studying poker. After one or two months later you will get back your money. But you need to study a lot.

Most definitely. Now, I wouldn't lose my rent and things over poker but the only way to get better is by losing/learning. I'd keep studying and playing as much as I can. It doesn't have to be with money either. Play on the CardsChat freerolls.

I enjoy playing
I enjoy winning
Bank roll management tells me: stick to freerolls for now
So there is no need to be a losing player.

If I always lost, I'd stop playing with money. Since I love the game, it wouldnt keep me from playing on a free App or a chip-only game with friends.

I know a lot of players who lose in 90% of the tournaments they play and in the 10% they win a small prize and still continue playing, that is, they play for the sake of poker.

Unfortunately I just rarely win in poker. And sometimes I go the casino and play ... I quite often win, but the end I always lose all my money. I tink I should stay at poker.:confused::confused:

I like poker games but would be willing to stop the game and use features to prevent me from using it online if I felt like I was on a loosing streak and control issues where kicking in. Not permanently but just a break and probably try again at a later time.
