Actually, knowing how to play poker drunk is soooooooo easy. I know. I have done it a lot. It goes like this:

Drink, play poker, continue drinking, continue playing poker, repeat ad nauseum....

Easy.

Now, winning money at this, thats a different ballgame altogether.

think I do way better after a 6 pack of beer than stone cold sober, think cause the alcohol relaxes me, but playing drunk, crap I have lost too many bank rolls in one night after spending alot of time building them.

the wacky tobaccy makes me play better .. good hand .. bad hand .. doesnt matter because you cant read me ... I always have the same look and you cant see my eyes cuz dental floss would blindfold me, lol. Not saying its a good idea to play big money like this, but to have fun with a few hundred .. u cant beat it.

Ive played heaps of poker drunk, bourbons my choice. I dont think theres anything too wrong with it if you are playing for enjoyment, I mean, its enjoyable!
If you stick to your bankroll its not really going to be a problem but if you want to play drunk, concentrate and make good decisions, well thats a bit harder.

But its when you've had one too many that the damage is done. Alcohol changes our perception and we can beleive in ourselves a little too much. After losing 20 sng's and chasing losses that cause the problems.

And when you've had 10 too many.

I just wrote then deleted the worst event of drinking and poker..... I dont think I can share it. Sorry. I have to rely on the stories about the night I was told by my family as I have no recollection of the events.

Cliffs

Crawling around on floor like a dog chasing wifes young cousins.
Downloading pokerstars on uncles computer.
Showing older cousins how good I was at poker loaded up a bunch of $16-25 sng's for my whole roll.
Missed the toilet.
Got dragged home in the middle of the games then let off torrent of abuse.

Probably should hit delete, not Post quick reply.

Eenie meenie miney, moe

If your playing for the entertainent purposes sure drink away. If your a serious player who looking for every edge and looking to build a bankroll not lose it then can't even imagine you would drink and play.

There's your A-game, B-game, C-game, then there's your D minus-game (drunk game). Just don't let it turn into your F-game (I think we all know what that stands for.)

I can't play drunk. Eyes are blurry, can't calculate odds, I order more drinks since they are free (if at the Casino) or pop open the fridge for a cold one. Yea better to just go watch some late night family guy.

Last night, an old friend was playing in the poker room. He told me how in 2005 he was "black out drunk" and deposited his entire savings account on pokerstars, just to wake up the next day to see a balance of $0

I woke up to find my few dollars on pokerstars gone, scratched my head and assumed I'd just donked it off whilst drunk. Didnt play stars for a couple of months then I get emailed, XXXXXraise has deposited $15 to your pokerstars account.

Im like, awesome, couple a bucks on stars! how kind of you (he's a friend in a nearby town,we play together and chat poker). I mailed him and asked if he'd won a big one or something. He was on holiday in switzerland and told me its an embarrasing story, he'll tell me when he's back.

Well, it turned out we'd played with my account on stars on his computer, it saved my user and password and when he logged in he was surprised to see a few dollars in there, so reg'd up a game and couldnt understand why he wasnt on screen, who this? The penny drops and he didnt win. Then the gambling addict chased his losses until every cent was gone and didnt tell me!!! He came good in the end and put an extra $3 there for interest!

Moral of the story? Don't keep yourself logged in anywhere, except your own personal computer.

I just emailed a friend about drinking and playing poker, here's a cut and paste from the email I sent him.

I decided to hit a bottle of Jack Daniels that has been sitting around forever, I got completely wasted and cashed in 5 of the 9 tournaments I played. I had to check my stats the next day LOL.

The best part was, I checked one of my hand history's to see how I played... check out this time line.

WELL, at 7:04 I had 8,476 chips,
7:12 I had 37,547 chips,
7:33 down to 18,745 chips,
7:35 I'm at 87,980 chips,
7:43 down to 62,188 chips,
7:49 up to 149,764 chips,
7:50 up to 174,664 chips,
7:54 up to 243,330 chips,
8:05 up to 344,638 chips,
8:15 moved to another table with 373,201 chips,
8:24 502,832 chips and leader of the tourny,
8:36 down to 297,608 chips,
8:42 back to 1st with 518,792 chips,
8:45 down to 270,248 chips,
8:48 down to 14,204 chips,
out in 16th place.

First paid $309... I won $11

What's the best part you ask... I timed out of a shit load of hands cause I kept falling asleep

I couldn't stop laughing as I was reading the hand history.

Main advice if people think your drunk whether you are or not, and your decision is to bluff or to not, don't do it.

Smartphones, social networks, poker tables , guns and wheels just don´t match with alcohol. It asks to go wrong.

Funny question this one! My advise is not to play drunk or you will lose all of your chips.

I sometimes drink alcohol, but rarely. I believe that intoxication and productive play are not combined. ;)
Therefore, I usually prefer coffee.

drunk play is just a lesson in tightness when you dont wnat to be

I naturally play fairly tight. DONT get me wrong i can get a little squirly. but when i am at a live play i generally enjoy a drink or two and then act a lot more drunk than i am just so i get the action i want. im not really playing any more hands than i normally do. but i sure seems like it to the other peoplebecaue im generally purposefully sluringnand appearing out of it.. now i do not recommend this online only because i have not found sitting at home playing 10 tables while getting shitfaced very fun . but to each his own.the point i should make with drunk play is play super super tight preflop and you will just just enough respect that when your brain does want to do something stupid it just might work. so fundamentals are fairly important to begin with.
