It's mostly skill in the long-run especially in cash games. Obviously short term result have a lot of luck involved but evens out over time

Short term luck bit long term skill will win in the long run. Over 1 game luck plays a huge factor over 100 games skill plays a huge factor

Usually many will say 50-50. But imho i believe that it is 60-40. Because however you twist or turn you still do need a lot of luck to win the flips and allins.

It is knowledge and skills that are of great importance in modern poker. Think for yourself, if only luck influenced the game, there would be no talk of stable earnings in poker. The age composition of modern poker has seriously changed. In the early 2000s, poker was dominated by older men who previously played in the casino, but today professional poker players are young people, often with scientific degrees and higher education in a technical direction. Detailed “reading” of an opponent, analysis of “signs” is everything classics that are increasingly being overshadowed by skills used in poker - math skills - calculating expectation values, statistics that make it easy to evaluate opponent's hands, as well as giving the game a random factor - an element that makes actions unpredictable.Use your knowledge and skills, study, but listen to fortune - it can bring a surprise - both positive and negative.

Good morning everyone, luck plays a very small role in poker, I'm gaining access to a much more technical knowledge about poker and hands that I didn't even think about playing before, it's possible to play 3bet, there are many strategies to play poker and the best is to use aggression the secret is to know how to do it and when to do it. Players who have the technical knowledge of the game in the long term will always win money, I believe that the game is 95% technique and 5% luck. luck and winning a lot of money, for example playing a spin go and I came with a very high prize, that's luck, but in the long run luck plays a very small role and the best players will win.

In my opinion it is 70% of study, preparation and hours of practice and a very important 30% luck that we all always like. Be careful, it is my opinion, so I may be wrong or it may be open to debate by anyone.

I tend to listen to a philosophy I heard Doyle Brunson once say in an interview he said poker is atleast 70% luck and 30% skill but sometimes skill is enough to win any hand it depends on the player 😉🏴󠁧󠁢❤️

if you constantly work on the game and play long distances it will be about 70/30 if you just play 2-3 tournaments a week) then it will be about 50/50

If you play against good players skill is most relevant, if against fish it's the opposite.

In short term plays it's more luck than skill, but if you play long term it's more skill than luck.

Quick... we need an over / under on how many threads asking this question have been posted on Cardschat.

I swear, more than any other forum I've been on, this question seems to be asked almost once a week.

I'm serious though.. how many people think it's over 1k? Is there any way to verify this mods? Might be a funny contest to hold.

Hello everyone and good night!

Debate... for you, poker is just luck? For me it is 80% luck and 20% study. I listen to opinions and reflections.

It’s calculating probability, luck is a factor of course, but it’s mathematics and strategy to minimize your losses and maximize your gains.
I really liked that answer! Thank you... I have to learn a lot of things about the poker environment, maybe I need to read.
