More than you can afford to lose. Any money deposited should be instantly seen as lost, if you're then redepositing and trying to chase the loses then its time to give it up..
Hi, Pokersplayers.
Please tell me how much money need to lose to understand that poker is not for you ?))))
Sorry for my English, I am only learning the language.
i have lost 100 but i hope to back all of them as soon as possible !
I lost 7k and still hope that I will be lucky and I will definitely win)
Must see as you don´t lost money, you invest, Poker is like any other profesion, now you ask yourself, how much does a carrer cost or how much start a bussisness cost? Thousnds rigth? Poker is the same..
Friend Ludyiko,
I think it's not how much you lose, but how you lose. And if your mode is Cash, you can lose a thousand dollars in 5 minutes.
The important thing is to stop, open your hands and analyze with good software where you're going wrong, study more like great mentors who post tips on YouTube (right here we have the course available and free, thanks Cardschat) and don't get discouraged.
After doing these tasks, go back to playing and you will see that your results are sure to be better.
I'm Brazilian, my English is not so good, but as in poker, just study and practice and we'll get there.
GL !!
My advice, try a different Poker room. I suspect you are on PokerStars. They don't have great freerolls, besides the Cardschat ones of course, but even then the CC regulars are pretty good players and it isn't easy to get in the money. I find I am more often unlucky on Pokerstars.
I have been playing at 888 lately, and with a 10$ deposit you get a lot of perks and freerolls that are not hard to get in the money. They aren't the greatest site, customer service wise, but you can't have everything. The bonuses only work if you lose, kind of like insurance, so maybe that is another incentive.
Cheers and good luck
The question is quite complex. Some players don't know exactly how much money they lost.
A man lost $110.000 in online poker and committed suicide in India.
I disagree with that mindset. You are putting your mind in a losers mentality. Don't consider deposited money as lost money. It is merely your stake. And if you can look at it and ignore the dollar sign and just consider it how you buy into a tourney, that is the first major step in becoming a true pro player.

Such players are unlikely to count their past losses. They see their only goal as winning, and they will not stop.In the case of a man from India, this is already a disease.
Hould not stoop to such a thing.
In my life I also met a man who lost an apartment.
I look at the losses I take in poker as tuition towards being a better player. The important part is to grow and learn from the mistakes you've made.
I would recommend dropping down in buy ins to a level you can afford to play for a long time without worrying about money as you learn the game. It takes a lot of time to get to the point where you can win money playing this difficult game, but once you get there it's incredibly rewarding and fun!!
Don't play for the money, play for the game
