No, I don't have a plan for a determined game, I mean I have many plans inside my harder mind and I follow my mood and table/hand timing to play whatever plan it suggest to me to do. Many times I lost and win playing tight, the same manner as playing loose, maniac sometimes, and all those stiles push me towards the way I carry now, and I'd like to share this.
What about you, do you have a plan!

I think getting into a poker game with a specific strategy (plan) is not what a good poker player does. A good player must know different strategies, that's for sure. But what makes him good is the ability to use the right one at the right table. In other words, he must be capable of adjusting to the dynamic of any table he sits at.

Generally, I've done with plans long time ago, in poker, too. Pointless and useless, especially in a game like poker, where is a significant luck factor. Much better without plans!!!:);)

I agree with you. Plans were made to fail...lol.

I have a basic goal, and that's to get as far into the money as I can. My only plan, is my style of play that enables me to get there.

I think sitting at a poker table with a specific strategy (plan) is not what a good poker player does. A good player knows many different strategies, that's for sure, but he also has the ability to know which one to use according to the dynamic of the table he finds himself at. Being capable to adjust is a must in order to be a decent poker player.

It is essential to have a plan when playing poker to help you avoid making mistakes and ensure that your are always thinking about your next move. Having a plan will also help you to avoid wasting time and energy, though it will take some practice. Ever heards the "10 second" rule? It is a popular, quick strategy to seperate winners from losers in poker games. The idea being that if you take more than 10 seconds before deciding your next move then your dont have a plan. ;)

Rob Hobson, hello. I play by the situation. Should I say that there is a certain plan? I think the only plan is observation. When playing, I often fold my cards if several people bet, even if I have something. I do this to see who bets how and to determine how often opponents bluff. Having received enough information, I'm already playing measured, assuming how everyone can behave. It works when you're playing at the same table. In tournaments, realizing that there is no time to study the opponents' game, I just play, without any plan.

This is a to for and valid point, not saying planning is pointless.... From my experiences the only thing I plan is my adjustment to the blinds depending on my stack and my approach to how I play certain hands and that what I can have sure control of to keep me in to tourni

It is enough to follow certain rules and not to play with a small card and wait for a good combination. If you have good combinations, then today is your day. And if not, wait for the next game, if there are people who are so unlucky, no plan will help them, you can not invent it.

My plan is simple. I always plan to play my best game possible. Other than that, it's hard to make a plan in this game. You never know what the tables or cards will be like, and the game can vary a lot.

The plan is to read opponents correctly and play as best as I can against them.
And adapt.
For example: sometimes I'm playing too tight. I know everyone knows I'm playing tight, so I bluff once or twice to take advantage of that and change the perception about me so that I can bet/raise strong hands without scaring people.

The only Plan I have when playing Poker is to have Fun and enjoy the game, Playing weekly at my Local Pub I only ever planned to make the final Table and get the points for the League table, whether I made money or not, gaining points was my first goal.
If I made the Final 9 I was satisfied with how I played, and only then could I think about making the top 3 places and winning cash, but the extra points for finishing higher was far more important, because the top players every 3 months qualified for a Quarterly Regional Final in a real Casino and winning there was like winning a huge event.
That was how I got involved with bigger games and started to play more in Casino's, before the League games, I had never set foot inside a Casino before, because winning money has never been my motivation.
Having fun and enjoying my time at the table is my only target, and if I miss the bull and fail, I will try again, but always playing games I can afford to lose, and keeping an eye on my bankroll.

When the fun Stops, STOP!

What is the plan for the game, because the game largely depends on the cards, there will be no good card and you will not win, no matter what plan you have, so no plans work here, there can be some kind of plan if you get to final table.

My plan is to learn and apply new poker techniques, avoid mistakes made previously and make more money.
