I play worse without music. I do not know why. The main thing is not to listen to metal during the game :D

I dont really think, that music improves my play, but I feel more comfortable and can play a longer period of time, when I listen to music.

I think the music does not affect my game. I play with her no better and no worse. When I'm passionate about the game, I don't even notice what I'm listening to.

Of course, music can help a lot, but that,s all depends on different people and situations.
Sometimes relaxing music can help you a lot to control your patience.
I think this is very important to work hard on that moment, so, if music can be usefull for you, why not?! Go on, try to find some good relaxing music on your choice. I,m sure, it can improve your game very much.

Music improves life, can't imagine it being a detriment to online poker. It helps me while playing. Never listen while playing live. Have a lot different focus in that type of game. Really not much that is missed with talking and observation in or out of a hand. Would not put on music with headphones in a live poker environment. It would be a distraction for me.

Look if it is to listen to music it has to be what you really like, and the good of it that other external noises are in the background.

Mellow Music to Calm the Nerves

Usually, listen to some light rock and once I go bust Marilyn Manson starts blasting. But like smoking weed while playing i'm sure it can be distracting. Weed kills my game, even though it makes it more enjoyable and makes me feel like Edward Norton in the Hulk.

music with poker is a must,
what else to do when you get boring, non existant hand after hand?

well I use the music to help me get into the flow state mainly at the beginning of the game. When I get to the final lines, the tendency is not to put any sound to focus fully on the table and find the best spots

I think that is different from person to person, but i think that if the music can keep you really concentrated and do not distract you then i think that is fine to listen to music.

I listen to Rap and EDM, both of these are very bad for poker playing, because they somewhat put me in a certain mood depending on the song that actually (for real) alters my decisions when I play. Dude it's serious, I might make shitty calls because I'm confident. Also, it's quite distracting, and sometimes I would have to mute my music when I'm dealt a good hand. Idk why that's my habit lol.

The music does not affect my playing, and sometimes it even prevents me from concentrating.

I don't personally listen to music because I play a read-heavy strategy, meaning passive play with music in the background doesn't really work for me. So I'll never listen to music at a live casino, and I'll only really have music on in the background during fast-paced freerolls.

Music helps me get into the rhythm of the game. I usually listen to a deep house or chillout. I'm not sure that listening to music during the game helps make better decisions, but what's not so boring with it is for sure.

I used to listen to music when I played poker, but it got in the way of my playing. I couldn't focus on the hands I was playing and I would loss track of the hands that were played when I wasn't in the hand. Overall music was bad for me and good for the players I was playing against.

Somethings I'm better with music, somethings I'm worst, depending of the gender I can focus more or lower

It depends on the style of music. I agree with some of the other posters. If it's something that gets me too excited, I prefer silence since it can affect my game.
