To show or not to show.

I usually muck my cards but there can be reasons to show. If you are wanting to show the table that your bet was justified by showing a strong hand, or to show that you just won on a bluff. Showing a bluff may cause other players to call your bets with weaker hands.

Never say never

I won't say I never show my cards, but normally I don't, and normally means >99,9 %.
I made an exception for royal flush once, just because it is such an unbelievable hand.
Another time I showed was when I got rockets twice, after an all in situation with the first pair of rockets were I had to show anyway, I showed the second time for fun.

To show or not to show.

I usually don't show but here are strategic elements to the occasional show. Showing a week hand can influence players to call with weaker hands. And showing a strong hand can make players less confident in calling your bets.

Showing the bluff cards to the villain can lead him to tilt.

Absolutely....

...never!!! Live or online does not matter I absolutely never show a card unless I have to. I want to give no information or as little as I can in all situations. Good or bad. That’s just me and how I play the game.

Stay Safe

We were discussing this only the other day
I definitely believe that you can influence somebody’s play later on by showing certain hands

Almost never. I think that's giving away information. It's better to make them wonder. I don't gloat when I take a bad beat or rub it in if I give a bad beat or win a hand with a bluff.

I have never been the type to do so, a good magician never reveals his secrets.

if my cards showed my opponent will get to know my game better, I always hide it, making it difficult to read the hands I try to play. remembering that poker is a game with a lot of information, the less information I give the better.:p

What do you think about rooms revealing them anyway? Maybe you did not realize it but 888 reveals all (non folded) hands in the replay. I believe this is happening at poker stars too.

Try it and see - next time you wonder what they had check the replay.

Anyway, if not too many people are aware it is an advantage.... maybe I shouldn't be letting the cat out of the bag.

As far as I know all sites reveal the hands at showdown.
