Not for me,i play poker just to entertain myself. I cant live from poker.First of all i cant have a constant profit from it and second i dont have enough time to play poker for living.Another fact would be the bankroll you start with, many people can't afford a big one so earnings cannot be sufficient.
I think no. Better way is to find job n get out from house. You can make few extra bucks but to live from poker i dont think so. Maybe some people can, but every pearson i know that plays poker they are in - or positive 0. So relax n enjoy in game. I am playin for fun n maybe some extra cash. cheers
I think it will be very tough now, if I started 10 years ago, then it would be a lot easier. The field is tough now, and there is a lot more resources out there for players to get better.
I'm aware that becoming a professional player would change the game from fun into work but that is what I'm trying to do nonetheless!
Perhaps one day when I have won a fortune I can use that money to start a profitable company of some sorts and start playing for entertainment again, haha!
I do not generally like the non personal play of online play, but due to my location live play is scarce. Games are not regular enough to create a substantial bankroll.
I used to think about it more often back in time. Now that I started playing Poker again a month or so ago I've been thinking about this again lately, I'm not sure if I'll be able to make this happen. Probably in a future when I'll be able to get a decent cash stack to subscribe to a big main event.
My goal is to play to supplement my retirement. I will retire soon, so I will be able to play online daily, and travel to tournaments more than I can now. I doesn't take a lot of time to cash about $3,000 a month (heck that's only $100 daily). For me it's just finding the time to play, which I will have plenty time soon.
the regular Joe's say I might have what it takes in my limited live experiences.I was offered a stake but I suffer from low self esteem, so maintaining a sense of confidence while worrying about losing someones investment is beyond me.trying to get into Sunday Million and try for final table. It's the only way I'd have the bank to go Pro.
you should know after playing for a couple years if your a lucrative poker player, i knew about year 8 that i was able to play poker for a living by looking at the facts since year 5 Ive had profits exceeding 100k a year and in 2014 i made 267k threw live tournys and cash games but online im not as fortunate i guess i use my online for more practice than work
Yes I could if someone staked me to play in tournaments around the USA. Profitable for both parties involved! My problem has always been work and time. Skill is not the issue!
