This guy is from Ukraine, not from the western dreamland - means have 100 times more chance to make living from poker than legally from everything else... he doesn't live in your reality - how most of us - so shouldn't write downgrading things. 20$ is an average daily salary for him, and 2000$ is a monthly good one. (Sorry, but for most of the world, people, it just sounds really crazy talk ("20$ who cares 2000$ not so much...."), even i know how much money the west burns for insane things, much more addicted and destructive things like poker....)

Poker is not gambling, poker is in the card/table games category, or if you wish, okay poker is gambling, then chess is gambling, too, how stock market etc., etc. where you can back up with math probability the game, or applying previous parties, patterns.

In my world any betting, lottery, bingo, these stupid scratching cards, slots are gambling. And the only thing what about i could argue is roulette, even if it is a table game.....

And the 'fun' part not worth to comment...... just laughing on the idiocracy - cannot be more polite......

Sweet dreams!

There is so much wrong with your post, it's hard to even comment on it. I will attempt to though.

1) Just because someone lives in Ukraine, doesn't mean they are poor. Also a quick google search shows that $20 a day, is not even the median wage for a days work in Ukraine lol. Like your post is border-line racist.

2) Poker is gambling, luck plays a big factor in the game. Chess however, is not gambling, because there are no elements of luck in it.

You probably just need a break. Try for a week to give up the game, just relax. I think the break will change everything for the better and your results including.

I find poker a nice escape from my depression as it puts my focus on nothing else than the game I'm playing. Zoned in and lost in only thoughs of the hand at play, if you find losing depressing you should definitely stop playing because it's something no poker player can avoid at some stage.

Cory, I agree with you as poker is everything you need at the time of depression as it helps you engage in poker over a long period of time and give you no time to waste on procastination and remember my friend most successful poker players are those who have some problem in life but they found poker and makes the most out of it and earned 10+ or 20+ millions of $.

Do not play poker when you are dealing with depression.

Gambling is anyway stressful and might aggravate the depression.

Yeah man, I'm not sure it's such a good idea to be playing poker when you are depressed. odds are that you are gonna lose more than you win (based on general stats). It's better to just lay off the poker and find something more rewarding (if you know what I mean) and then if you feel better, come back.

All the best to you, I wish you all the happiness you can find.

Hello and at the same time forgive me for not answering your messages on you. But can understand me. I have been collecting information about how someone is struggling with depression and cases about it.

Now let's talk a little about what happened to me.

Having made myself a challenge from $ 10 to $ 1000 until 2022 in September, I'm no could advance from $ 20 bankroll and this is sad. Every session I try to win back to the maximum. I realize that in 80% of tournaments, I have been playing in trouble.
And this was due to the fact that, for example, I was 3betting AA and a person bought Q on the board with QQ.
--------------------------------------------------
Now let's get back to your answers to my post at the beginning.

Many of those who answered, tried to calm me down and said what I wanted to hear; it happens ; this is RNG. But many ... they thought that ... oh, a cool guy from Ukraine decided to raise the topic of the RNG, let me start writing nonsense and the administrators won't notice me ...

I say this to all those who write a post without delving into the essence of the text and trying to write something that would be +1 post on the format. You idiots! forgive me not this fact you will be blocked !!!

And now let's get back to what I would like to see in further posts ...

If someone has dealt with depression in poker, then they understand that they need rest and yes I have fulfilled this condition ...! I would love to hear real stories! What books to read and how to deal with variance in poker.

Remember these messages contribute to the formation of personality in poker; And let it be late, as many would say, but this is not so, everything is possible, the main thing is the result! I'm trying to learn the world of tilt and frustration .

And I hope in future posts there will be such (cognitive - intellectual) text as in [ Phoenix Wright , Alex70793 , 1984 , danoscar , Rockyfour ] You know, I listened to all the advice and follow them, and I already see the positive components in the training program

p.s. Thanks for reading, I know it was not easy. My English with a translator is something; is not it:)

I don’t think poker and depression go well together I think poker can help you get over depression but it can also drive you to depression but the two together is just disastrous for a person.

Hi Vadim !!! (I hope your name matches your nickname and I'm talking about you correctly)
I do not think that in your case this is not variance, since variance is a fall after a rise, and you have a stable fall !!!

I drew attention to the number of fields won in your statistics - 44.8% !!! This is very small and may indicate that you are entering the bank too often !!!

Here you can take a 30 day training course and it really enjoys very good reviews so if you have such an opportunity then take it !!! If he does not help you then watch this video:

I write a lot on various forums about how to deal with depression, but I myself cannot overcome it. ;)

I play in three poker rooms : pokerstars , partypoker, 888 and for the last two weeks of the session more likely negative than vice versa.

The strangest thing is that I play very carefully but bad beats cannot be avoided. In almost every tournament I get to ITM and something happens.

Am I winding myself up and soon everything will pay off or does something need to be changed? ...

Give advice;)

Why are you depressed? Wasted money? Have you taken poker too seriously and want to make money playing poker? In this case, you will be depressed all the time !!! Even super good players have a STABLE income outside of poker, which allows them to understand that in the event of a long losing streak, they will not be left without money for life. Find a permanent job and the cause of your depression will go away.

You can try playing the stakes and the games that you feel comfortable playing , that you have an edge on them , leave the rest , or play them very rarely with strict bankroll managmnt . Read some books whenever you feel like , study some threads , and when you feel more confident , go to higher limits . When you feel depressed , never play , that will lead to worse results , whenyou feel better play again .Never try to win back big losses , that lead to even bigger losses and depression .

A break is probably the only and best solution in such circumstances. Sometimes, the advantage prevents frustration and as a consequence of depression. Take a 1-2 week off from the game and I think when you come back everything will change for the better.

depression ?! Real man !!! you have to relax, it's just a game and you have to treated as such, you have to have the joy of playing poker, whether you lose or win, if you don't .... then stop playing, there are many other things that you can do in your life and with your time:)

Depression

Hello bro, my advice to you is to quit all luck games or betting sites when you're fighting depression... Playing such games can only have a negative impact. First you will see your luck as something normal and see your bad beat as something against your person. I hope you understand me.

If you get to ITM in almost every tournament, it's not bad :)
It is very difficult to overcome depression.
For me on days like this, i don't feel like anything at all, the more so for poker.
How to overcome it? a different method is effective for everyone.
If you have been trying for a long time but have not been successful, i think you need to see a specialist.
Many who have recovered from depression also recommend this because that is the only way they have succeeded!

I think that if you think a lot about depression in poker, then it will come soon, it is better to think about winning.

1) accept that there is still a massive GAMBLING aspect to poker - no matter how good you are - your AA will get cracked by 22 1/6 times...
2) BRM is key - you should never be playing at a level where the money lost in a session "hurts" - and if it does step back and re-evaluate. A session filled with bad beats hurt - but the money lost should not be a huge issue
3) Look at your MTT mix - are you just playing in massive 1000+ entry events? Sure the money up top always looks so juicy - but you need a lot of things to go your way to FT - maybe mix in some smaller field events as well.

lastly, try be positive - if villians are always needing to catch outs, that might be a sign that you are playing well.
