In my experience, you can make more money at cash tables in less time, but you can also fall more if something doesn’t come together. The other advantage of playing cash is that I stop when I want to until I can get out of the tournament if, say, I’m tired.

For me it's tournaments. I just suck at cash games. I go back and try cash games every once in awhile, but same results. I still suck at it. :)

I like both and i think both can be profitable, but its really different. Sometimes i have mood to play more cash, sometimes to play mtt. I think its more of a personal question then actual numbers like mtts are 37% more profitable, you know

My first experience on the poker table were cash game. Mostly i played limit holdem. But in 15 years i couldnt develop a positive value on my cash games. My psycholigy is not good for cash game. In the last years i develope my tourney game and if i play my best poker, i make some good score in freeroll games. If i collect my money and did not waste in cash games, i thin i could build a bankroll from micro stakes tourneys ot sit and gos. Today i play my first silver tourney and im direct in the money.

Sunday Storm 200K

Hello there guys. It's my pleasure and honor to be around you. Yo I might need an advice. I have on Sunday the Sunday Storm 200K event and I'm so nervous. I got the ticket the hard way through 33 cents satellite and I don't wanna blow it up. Any piece of advice? If I win something I promise I will share :)

I love playing cash at low levels, it has given me a lot of profitability, you find people who pay you with anything ... But I also like the challenge of playing tournaments :D because of the strategy and skill that some opponents demand of you.

I play only in tournaments, because there is no risk of losing your money, and at the cash tables you can quickly lose everything.

Good question

where do you find the best return...cash tables or tournaments?
I seem to be making the most money on low level cash games in a shorter time that it takes me in a mtt, but I wonder how you all get on.

I feel the same way. It's not easy to get into the money in MTTs. But the same is true for cash games. You never know if you are going to walk away a winner or loser. But for cash games you can play an hour or two and quit while you are ahead. While playing the MTTs you got 5 mins every hour to go to the bathroom and grab a sandwich and another beer if you drink while playing. I'm sure there are many other opinions on this subject.

If you don,t have lots of time for the game, then of course it,s better to play cash games. If you can play well you can have some money and no need to sit 5 or even more hours in different tournaments. Also i think it will save your nerves, just because in tournament poker you can play for a few hours, but in a couple of loose hands you can take a cheap prize and you will not be happy with it.
I think most of the people prefer to play tournaments. Most of the streamers i think also streaming tournaments.

I prefer tourneys over cash game yet I don't have interest or time on grinding cent games for 10 hours multitabling with absolute time killer centurions. I played few cash games, got my small profit however I'm stick to MTT / spin go's for now.

Cash tournaments are for those who have a lot of money and need an immediate win, I know many players there who will win at one table and immediately jump to another table, considering not to lose in this way, won or completely leave the game, will take $ 30 and run away.

Cash games are different from tournaments because cash games deals with each chip representing a specific dollar amount whereas in a tournament your chipstack represents your buy in. I don't have the chipstack or the nerve to play on the big tables to win significant amounts of money and the smaller tables people play with reckless abandon....no fun.

Cash Games are a totally different game from Tourney in the fact you can Re-buy or add chips whenever you want, Of course this means you can lose a lot of money if you are not keeping watch on your bankroll.
Tourneys are a lot more fun, and you know how much you are going to lose or win before the game starts, If you prefer to play with fewer players you can choose a variety of table sizes starting with Heads up or 3 player spin and go's etc all the way up to thousands of players.
I will always remember an Interview with Joe Hatchem after he won a World Series Event and he said when he walked into the Casino and saw all the tables, he thought to himself how the hell can I play against so many players? and the answer he gave himself is You Don't!
You play one table at a time, and you tell yourself, I don't care what happens on the other tables, This table I am sat at is all that matters and I am going to own it. One Table at a Time!
He got there and took down the Final table,

When the fun Stops, STOP!

I am more of tournaments, the degree of difficulty is unique, not only for the number of participants that can be found but also for all the number of strategies that each one has, it is better to take into account that in a tournament the amount of losing money is very low that compared to cash games, a tip from me would be that you can improve first in tournaments with low cost registration and then when you have in mind and very well established your strategies for different types of players then, advance to cash games it would be highly recommended many later
