Tournament for the best spots for me to make some cash.

I prefer to play tournaments over cash I have my most effective times playing tournaments as opposed to cash although there's days that we've done some pretty decent cashes I like the tournaments better than I do the cash I think the tournament of more strategic is a lot of ways and you have to be able to manage your chip stack you can't just go back if you lose all your money and reload with more money you have to administer chips that you have although there's very few freeze outs now than it was before the tournament to me is a lot better especially if it's a deep stack tournament and the blind structures are long that's why I think I'm at my very best that's just an opinion from me everybody have a nice day and be safe goodbye.

I prefer to play at the cash tables ... for the following reasons ...
1- I usually face the same rivals every day ... this allows me to get to know them better and know how they play.
2- I can have an established game schedule according to my available time.
3- I can retire from the tables at the time I decide.

I prefer cash games. There is no more poison than falling out on mtt before the bubble.

If your goal is to drag some wsop tournament, then welcome to MTT. However, you must remember that desire alone is not enough. For drifts of large offline series, your playing technique should be flawless, your eyes should scan your opponents accurately, and your hands should not tremble with a big bluff on the river. How can all this be achieved? We are working on the game and regularly consolidate our knowledge in practice.

MTT/Tourneys are less "gambling" than cash games and I find them more enjoyable and a bit less variance.

Hi all!

I like MTTs, Cahs don't even play. It gives me the feeling of having more control over the game in general.
Cheers :heeeellll

I like all but prefer tournies, think the returns are better, cash is a slow and steady with less variance sit and goes is somewhere in-between and mtts with higher returns but also has more variance, but it all depends on the time you have available.

you can multitable a few cash games get off whenever, must spare 10-20mins for sit n goes even hypers because you never know how the game will go, and 5+ hours for an mtt turbo more if its slower with long late reg/rebuy period So I like to have some time spare

I prefer cash games because a poor boy like me can play with less variance, and I understand the maths better, whereas in a tournament the variance is higher, and the game can last for hours just to min cash for pennies or even bust on the bubble.
The freedom to walk away makes 6 max and full ring cash games an easy choice for me.

Hi! I choose tournaments. For me, cash is like a lottery or a sieve in which I try to collect water. Everything eventually ends up losing. This is probably not my type of game.

I prefer tourney. Higher multiplyer wins possible. Also I don't like to play like cash 1 hand all my bankroll. So volatile. I run the long tournament road :D

Tournaments vs. Cash

I prefer tournament over cash, for me the ROI has always been more effective in tournaments. I do not not feel pressured when playing in tourneys as I do when playing for cash. Capo1014

opinion

Play tournaments calmer. Cash game is too nervous pleasure. Although - who likes what. I would never play big cash games. Better to play a lot of tournaments with this money. It's more likely that way.

I never chose between cash and tournaments. I preferred to play tournaments, but lately I tend to cash. Tournaments last for 8 hours and there are very few chances to sit until the final and the prize money is scanty. And in the cash you can always win if you are lucky and there will be fatty

Everyone is better at one than another. Play to your strenghts. If you feel you're equally good at both then I have some tips. If you want to raise your bankroll slowly you should do low limit cash games. But me personally, I find tournaments softer but again I studied them a lot more.

In the long run, tourneys are far, far beter for me than cash games. It's not always easy to stick to tourneys when you have no notable winnings for a longer period of time, but all in all, tourneys are far better.

A 'winning' player should be able to make profit at both disciplines...a 'losing' player will probably struggle at both.
'Comfort zone' is very important....if one is playing outside one's comfort zone, it will be very hard to play one's A-Game.

Bankroll management is a complex issue...i feel that one should play the highest stakes that one can afford to lose at, while remaining in one's comfort zone....that is to say that a loss will not affect one's future game options. The 100 buy ins for tourneys, and 50 buy ins for cash game rule to me is irrelevant...

get out of the 1/2 and 2/4 games asap...and the $1 and $2 tourneys can be equally soul destroying.

Tourneys, even I play cash game sometimes, in the end I always regret it. The reason is simple, I am good in tourney and one of the fish type in cash... Only tourneys

Sometimes it's a good idea to mix different formats. I do this often, especially during downswings in the cache. My outlet recently became a mini-MTT for 180 players on pokerstars. I got hooked on them right away. If things are really bad in the cache, but I want to play poker, I just run a dozen of these tournaments and try to get to at least one or two final tables.
