Live cash & tournaments

Cash poker, prefer not to do it online. Either poker room or home game. Online, MTT, despite the big field, at least you know exactly how much you can lose.

I find that the more I learn in cash games the better it makes me in tournaments as well. It seems that tournaments involve much more variance and a different strategy for sure but I think cash players typically do pretty well in tournaments compared to the average joe tournament player. One thing I have noticed in both tournaments and cash games is that once I learned to stop playing my cards and play more of a mixed strategy with a little bit of GTO as well as exploitative play, my ROI improved and I began to make final tables more frequently in tournaments as well.

I have one more $ in cash games but there is nothing like reaching the final table in a big tourney for me!

I have also lost more money in cash games. In tournies, if you do not place, your losses are limited to your entry. In cash games, there is always the temptation to try and get you money back after a bad beat....this can lead to more losses....

Micro-stakes and sometimes low stakes tournaments, but not no limit hold 'em. This way you pay for your entertainment instead of for your education. And if you get lucky or are simply a tight player, you may get paid for your entertainment.

I do much better in tournaments because in cash tournaments I only lose and the winnings are much lower than the ones I win in tournaments, it is clear that it takes much longer but it is still worth it because I could recover in good hands.

Tournaments are more profitable for me, I have played cash but surely it has not gone well for me due to lack of strategies !!!

Love cash tournaments. They allow me to quickly lose what I played three hours in a MTT to win.

I've been playing tournaments for a long time, I love the variance that exists in these types of tournaments, it has taught me to have a lot of patience and to wait for willing hands to reach me to be able to play them. Losses were always the order of the day ,,, now I'm starting to win, thanks to what I learned. Never pay to lose, and I incorporated two cash tables of not $ 5 and using what I learned I am climbing levels, with everything that has happened to me has left me a great lesson to be able to wait and apply my strategies, that in the short term, I go back to the path I am looking for, which is to quickly overcome levels due to the high commissions that are paid, goal for this year to reach not $ 50, if it is going to be able to arrive, of course always studying, putting many hands and continuing with All the learned ,,,

I've just started online poker and I began with NL2 and freerolls. Everything was going well and I built $45 in a couple of weeks from nothing, though my bankroll took a huge hit after trying the auto top-up feature which reduced my bankroll back down to $6.... Now I'm trying out 10c tourneys to build up my bankroll again and have won 2 out of 3 while still being in the money for the third.

I really like the flexibility of cash games, being able to start and finish whenever you want compared to being stuck in a tourney for a few hours.

I struggle a little in cash games where players call my raises with garbage and outdraw my premium hands or getting people to pay me when I hit a monster. In a tourney, when you get deep enough the players are a bit easier to read and play against as they'd be playing decent hands and there's a bit more tactical play involved.

Cash games can cause a huge dent in bankroll if you're not careful but tourneys are more enjoyable for me. I'd probably play between the two depending on my mood but would sway more towards tourneys if I had the time available.

In tournaments you need a lot more luck than in cash games to win money. However, there are also higher prizes in tournaments for a relatively small stake. Think about it this way: at a regular no-limit game, if you started with $ 2,000 what is the chance that you would end up with $ 2 million before the night was over? Zero. However, to win a tournament where each player has 2k starting chips and 1,000 people enter, you would need to win two million in chips to win the tournament. Not an easy feat to do unless lady luck truly smiled upon you that day! Tournaments can be fun, but they can also make you desperate.

I think the fact that in a tourney the blinds are always increasing which pushes people to make mistakes that you can capitalise on. In a cash game players can sit for as long as their bankroll allows waiting for that AA, KK, AK before really putting any money into a pot.

Plus in NL2 you get all sorts chasing their backdoor flush with 10d6d...

I prefer tournaments. They have a competitive spirit. There is no such thing at cash tables. There just everyone is waiting for a strong hand.

Depending on the time I have to play, I choose to play cash or MTT. In cash I have good earnings but with bad beats I have lost a lot of money. In general, tournaments are more profitable for me.

There was a time when I liked the cash game. But now I prefer tournaments. Most often these are freerolls.

Tournament is more interesting

According to statistics, there are many weak players in the tournament, so it can be very interesting. Especially when bad beats happen)

First i started to play cash games. Mostly cash games. On cash games im not profitable. In the last year i concentrate more on tourneys. I still learning but in the cs freeroll i had some nice cashes, including 3 times the 100 Dollar winning in the last 6 weeks.
