If I'm in the big blind and it doesn't open before the small blind raise, I'll raise most of the time. You'll likely get a fold. And if you don't, you'll be in position and have a viable hand to counter most flops. If you get a check raise on the flop, just give up.
The button against some looser players or those who will fold relatively often to cbets is also a good spot.
In most cases although I'd rather just see a cheap flop and set mine.
