I need help w/my costume too. I've done Ferris Bueller like two years in a row now, so i want to switch it up. Thinking a group of us will go as TMNT, but it feels kind of lame. What do you guys think?

its a fundamental thing about how we want to play our draws, v strong ranges we have implied odds so calling makes more sense, as raising or betting causes us to have to put money in behind with no fold equity to make it profitable. v wider/weaker/capped ranges tho we can semi bluff and be profitable by having some equity and supplementing it with the fold equity we generate.

but more importantly why are we electing to play hands v this guy. we know he is tight, we can exploit him by never putting in money v him. hands that flop more equity less often (set mining) is ok, but i see no reason to need to play this hand v him at all.

Up to river Duggs covered it. He's a nit, you're not setting up a bluff at all, you're putting money in the pot with a weak hand against a nutted range with very little FE and a very high chance of not getting free cards. I think on the river he checks back AK a lot and that any hand he shoves river with he would have called anyway. I think you're just overthinking things, because when a nit calls your flop ch/r and turn bet and the only reasonable draw hits the river I don't see what bluffs he can even have.

At every point in the hand ask yourself what his range looks like and what you expect him to do in response to your action with various parts of that range. How many hands does he have that are bet/folding the flop? Folding the turn? And then really on the river how many hands do you think he can even have to turn into a bluff?

Dude he's not narrowing your range down to only sets lol. Sure there are sets in your range, but there's more Ax, FD's, 2pr, Qx, air. That's like poker 101.
