I entered a short story writing contest sponsored by Maria Konnikova and pokerstars. Write a true story about your life + poker...what poker means to you what it has taught you how it’s helped you overcome something etc.

There were 86 entries and 6 finalists and ONE winner. 😊

One pass to rule them all....lol

I included a link to the story of you care to read it. It’s 5 pages.
Way to go! That is so awesome! Have a great time!

Nice one ring reference

I think they called preflop expecting a a few more players to call and hoping to hit the jackpot and were enchanted by a good little two way pot and the prospect of purchasing it on a later street.

Yes.

I’m keeping 50% and 25% I have given away to charity, or as gifts or swaps so I’m selling 25% at 1.1 markup.

I’m offering my regular investors first pick before I make a staking thread on cardschat.

Last night's cash session did not end well.

I only played 30 mins was waiting for the tournament to start.

I was up $150

Then it folds to CO who makes it $15 off a stack of $300

I 3bet to $50 w :qc4::qh4:

he goes all in

I get a count and then I tank. I consider folding, seriously seriously consider it I'm studying him and he looks genuinely nervous that I'm considering calling. I make the call.

He has KK and we lose that hand.

so all in all I ended up losing $160 over 30 mins

CHALLENGE TOTALS:

-$1,987 over 23.75 hours

Live 1/2 players don't 4b jam worse than QQ. Once in a while, AK.

I would suggest unless you actually see proof that the villain will 4b light, assume it's KK+ and snap fold.

Yes I agree. I folded QQ in a similar spot a couple weeks ago and was shown AA.

This one got me though and was a mistake

yeah sorry I have basically abandoned this thread. I'm not playing cash lately at all as I'm in big time training mode for the PSPC. As this is most likely the only $25k buy in I'll ever play....grinding $1/ 2 has taken a back seat!

:)

I'm late to the party, but glad I bumped into this thread. When you get back to the $1/$2 I'll look forward to following.

Good luck at the PSPC 25K! Train hard and play your best game. :)

My training is multi faceted....

I am doing some yoga and meditation and exercise training. all light. I actually believe these things help contribute to live poker performances with long days.

as to strategy preparations....I'm a competent tourney player. This cash thread was my attempt at branching out but tourneys are what I really know. SO that being said....I'm not trying to massively re-work my game I'm just trying to fine tune and plug leaks.

I am online multitabling MTTs as much as I can, I am working with a trusted group of competent friends to review spots with me, I am doing some paid online training courses that are a little bit more GTO focused than I am used to, and I'm diving into my datatbase after all online sessions and first thing in the mornings (after my short run) to look for leaks.

examples:

analyzing 3b pots OOP
analyzing BB defends
analyzing triple barrel pots

I have a decent sized database and I'm basically in love with it.

I do yoga weekly. Literally one of the best decisions I've made. The amount of stability you gain through it is insane

After you 3-bet QQ to 50$....how do you stack off 300 with QQ lol....Obviously he's only representing AA or KK here and nothing else.....That is all he can have there. So you are literally averaging -91.00$ per hour LOLOLOL. 24 hours and down 2,200$ Sorry but you aren't on a downswing like a real player goes through. You're just really terrible at cards unfortunately. Here is what a winning players stats look like a the lower limits. I'll be extremely surprised if you turn any type of profit what so ever. Here let me quote your words about us low stakes grinders read below: HAHAHAHAH to funny.
