any tips on beating 5NL Rush on FTP? I started out doing well and got off to a good start up 5-6 buy-ins, and that changed awfully quick. Hadn't really played much rush and thought it was the greatest thing ever. That's when you're winning. Are Rush games really that swingy and should I not be worried. I'm getting absolutely crushed. Part of it I'm running like ass (badbeats and coolers), and part of it I'm getting frustrated running like ass. Dunno if it's better to just give up on it and switch to the regular 5NL tables.

Not much. I think I have only played like 1k hands ring there and they were micros, and I'm pretty sure you're playing a little bit higher than 5NL, right?

I'm in the same boat. I started up 6 buy-ins, and now I'm down 10. I think it's a combo with the games going so fast along with the 5NL donks playing with reckless abandon. I'll still play rush, since I can still see more volume with fewer tables, but not the volume I played last week.

Yep, exactly. I ran into a bunch of coolers, and badbeats and bam. I think I'll only play Rush on the weekends. The games seem super fishy then.

fwiw in my opinion rush isnt going to make you a better player which is what you want at 2, 5, 10 and 25nl. I have been there also just smashing out volume, ask WV but rush takes away table dynamics, reads, player tendencies, exploiting people to a certain extent.

Yea, Rush definitely isn't helping out the skill portion, but man can you get volume. It's also how you can be +6BIs AIEV but down 2 BIs on the month... Still working out fine because of rakeback and the promo FT had last week, but still annoying. I should definitely be going back to multi-tabling 5NL but instead I just added another table of Rush... I'm a crack baby with Rush, what can I say...

I tottaly agree. Too much varience and alot of just playing the cards. Meh it may just be me but I like to play normal poker.
I've got a mate who plays NL5 rush and he's doing very well. He's got sum good tatics.

Just lost 4 bucks on the 2nl tables. All of it is on 3 hands. I suck at knowing when to push and when to hold back.

I also don't know when to play back against Donks, or just fold.
