But wat are we repping?

Possibly BDF. I think it just looks majorly strong, bet/calling flop, calling turn and x/shoving river. Regs at 25nl wont think too deeply into how we've played it and theyre fairly nitty. We need folds like 40% of the time I think.

Dont get me wrong, I wouldnt normally shove, Im just throwing it out as an option to be argued.

I actually marked that hand for review cause I thought it might of been a bit thin but in my haste of posting the hands I got distracted. It was vs a fish but on my phone now so not sure exactly wat stats were so will post later!

And yes 6m is more fun :) :) :)

I suck at math so bare with me here.

If the action went as follows:

EP opens to 3bb
Hero 3bets from CO to 9bb
(blinds fold) EP 4bets to 22bb
Hero shoves for 100bb

We need 28% equity when called to be +ev?

91 (wat we risk)/35.5 (wat we get )= 2.56 = 1/3.56

So 5bet shoving A4ss would be +ev vs a calling range of JJ+,AK?

Uhm... Basically none of what you wrote makes sense lol. Get on skype and I will answer all your questions. (Basically a ton of it has to do with if you assume 0% FE or not.)

yayyy for scourrge!!!

so he's away on lunch right now and left me to solve it by myself so here's wat i learned

EV = EV(fold) x (% he folds) + EV(call) x (% he calls)

assuming we have 30% equity vs calling range and 100bb stacks

(F)(35.5) + (1-F)[(113.5)(.30) - (91)(.70)]

0 = 35.5F +(1-F)(-29.65)

0 = 35.5F + 29.65F - 29.65

29.65 = 65.15F

F = .455

so we need 46% FE for this to be b/e

hows that look?

Looks solid - I get that we need 45.5% folds to be breakeven against a calling range that we have 30% equity against. Good work! :)

I probably need to learn the math at some point tbh.

gonna try and figure this out for a while longer, and try to post in this thread more if Tyler posts more hands

in the same example about 5betting air, if his calling range is JJ+,AK (40 combos), then just having a 4bet air range of KQ,AJ,A4ss (36 combos) is enough for this to be +ev since its folding 47%

yes?

Just flip a coin, no thinking required.

In all seriousness though I need to work on this as well.

Sounds it! :)

Tyler, you now looking to justify 5bet jamming with **** all? I would say look at their 4bet, esp vsHero, and then make a more informed decision - why not tip things even further in your favour?

Ya don't worry I'm not going to be turning into a spewtard and just 5betting every chance I get :p

Just using that as an example to work on my math since ive struggled with it for far too long now and it's already helped me. Like I had no idea the actual numbers needed for it to b/e in the above hand and I will be including it in my game now :)

Expect me to post my hands when I'm up vs AA every time ldo
