Why did you decide to flat AK there rather than 3bet it?

Does he call OOP with significantly worse? It's FR, so I really think flatting AK frequently is fine, opponent-dependent obv.

Nice that you got there early enough that the owner of those seats wasn't there yet. :)

So the reason why I have had lack of updates lately is because basically, I had lost all motivation to play, get better, and make monies. I understand the euro's probably get annoyed with all the bitching about the US situation, but its hard to do anything with what we have atm. After hearing how poker at the federal level was unlikely and that the state games wouldn't even be that great was extremely devastating, making me feel like whats the point of even continuing.

Like I have stated itt before, I'm majoring in business finance, (got accepted into my first 4-yr college the other day :) ) and am trying to get in about 1-2hrs studying the markets hoping to gain enough info to either day trade or swing trade. I tried looking into Forex, but it would take about 1-2 years of studying to just break out of the noob level, just barely lol and people/companies with huge capital dominate the market as well as machines who are able to pick up patterns/trends making it hard for a 20 year old student with limited capital to stand a chance :D .

Was able to discuss the options with people in the skype group and the convo went something like this

Tyler:

-idk wat to do with this poker situation im in.

-people are saying US legislation is looking terrible at this point
-it could only be state vs state games probably which wouldnt be all that great
-would take awhile to be legislated
-the games are tough
-withdrawals on Lock Poker are almost impossble and you have to trade at like .7 right now (so getting off 1k for me would really be 700)
-the avg FR games that run at 50nl are around 4-8
-traffic blows
-so its hard to get motivated and study/improve or just put volume in because it almost feels like "wats the point?"

-insert more bitching

then this beauty of a line that changes everything

[1/19/2013 10:21:36 AM] Cafeman31: yeah Tyler, play 6max you pussy

So yayyy I'm moving to 6max!!!!! A lot more games run and I could even table select  so it should be fun!

A little background, started out playing 6max on FT about 2-3yrs ago or however long that fiasco was, then switched to merge and put in about 40k hands at 25nl but eventually went to FR cause people told me the games were softtttt.

Updated goals now:

-undecided volume, will see how this month goes and make a target for Feb
-watch at least one series on DC each month
-go back to the foundation and read up on all the 2p2 great stuff
-continue doing as I'm doing with the equities market but in order to invest, you need $$$!!!! aka poker

This was like the longest post I've ever written

Even i play a mix of FR and 6m these days!

GL tyler, remember not to over-adjust, and i'd seriously think about just playing FR and 6m too, i don't see how anything gets in the way and you have tons more table selection then! gl gl gl

Thanks everyone!

1st actual 6m session in the books! Just played 20nl for 2k hands and dropped like 1.5bis but felt I played pretty good

kind of a stando spot but just checking. 26/20 3b 7% and raise flop cbet 18% 800 hands

Revolution Gaming Network - $0.20 NL (6 max) - Holdem - 6 players
Hand converted by PokerTracker 4

UTG: $27.34
MP: $5.70
CO: $44.26
BTN: $22.98
Hero (SB): $22.82
BB: $20.39

Hero posts SB $0.10, BB posts BB $0.20

Pre Flop: (pot: $0.30) Hero has A:club: K:heart:

fold, fold, fold, fold, Hero raises to $0.47, BB calls $0.27

Flop: ($0.94, 2 players) 5:spade: J:heart: K:spade:
Hero bets $0.70, BB raises to $2.20, Hero calls $1.50

Turn: ($5.34, 2 players) 8:heart:
Hero checks, BB bets $3.00, Hero calls $3.00

River: ($11.34, 2 players) 6:heart:
Hero checks, BB bets $6.80, Hero calls $6.80

looks ok? only need 27% and figured he'd have enough draws bvb also only repping 55 KJ for value

going to play 20nl for the rest of the month to get used to 6m again then go up to fiddy and crush the volume prop :)

You missed 3 combos of K5s maybe even 2 combos of J5s when you make it that small bvb he shouldn't be folding any suited cards pretty much ever. Plus he can have backdoor hearts which actually should make up a decent amount of his flop bluff range (although obv less than spades/QT). River I think is actually kinda close calling's probably fine people just don't hardly ever bluff in this spot especially that sizing and you don't beat any value hands so I might just fold.

Would you suggest opening 3x when opening in the sb bvb as we can probably get more folds since as you said people will/should be defending us wider when we make it smaller? Also, otb when stealing with 2 regs in blinds we can make it smaller because they won't defend as wide oop, duh Tyler.

I thought his sizing was leaning towards more air? If he was raising for value shouldn't he be betting turn more (like 4.5) to get value from my range of AK, KQ, AJ, which isn't calling flop to fold on that turn card?

I think shoving's pretty bad imo. Your only getting value from KQ, K10?

Maybe getting a fold from AK, but I highly doubt it. Looks like backdoor hearts with the sizing on turn/river imo

I don't really see any merit to this. I can only see maybe KQ playing like this but that's unlikely as I doubt most regs at this stake are going to be raising there for value with it otf. We basically have a bluff catcher

I mean a bluff shove. Can we fold out his 2 pair very often?
