Ax i 3bet, but Kx Qx just makes no sense to me, but we have beaten that horse to death already.
Could you please explain why you think these hands differ?

I have always struggled to understand why Ax is considered so good 3bet bluff hand given it has so much equity, but surely not against calling 3bet calling range when A hits. Don't we miss all EV value of the hand when 3betting on trusting fold equity?

After years of only being able to play speed poker at stars, and ONLY with play money, I am thrilled to find that SB/BOL has the same game.

They call it BOOST, and you find it under the Games button.

The player pool is still small, under a 100 players at this point, but it moves along as fast as Zoom does.

If anything can get me excited about poker these days it will be that I can finally play speed poker with real money.:D

Results thru 4 sessions is -1 bi.

Only 3 games are showing available, but only 1 has any action; 6 max $10 bi. Min bi is $4, and until I get my feet wet enough, I'm getting in cheap, mainly to clear a deposit.

too tight? i was on the fence but feel like i have JJ here and KK/AA so its close to the bottom

Jeez dude people online are sticky man. Like "what's that stuck to the bottom of my shoe?"

"Oh it's dude with Q-10o calling 3 barrels with 2nd pair meh kicker."

8-7 I think I give up after turn on that one, he's unlikely to fold IMO.

Love the AA hand, it's hilarious the V calls down with 2nd pair, K-9o.

I gotta try and play some online, sometime. The game is whacky man.

I dunno whether this should be a fold or not, just a weird line.

The A-Q hand, the last one, gotta find a fold OTF IMO, and pre is meh also. But, I see the other shit people are doing so maybe I'm wrong. But I def feel like flop is a fold.

As for the KQ hand OTB, I think flatting pre is ok as well. Once again, I would think we are beat here OTT, and I would consider the pot odds.

6-5s well played post, but too loose UTG.

Obv, these are just my thoughts, and I will be the first one to tell you I am out of touch with the online world.....

Mate your advanced bluffing skills mean you are putting too many bluffs into their ranges and stacking off too light as a result. At this level the vast majority of players are developers or nits who don't have the skill or resolve for the big bluffs. Therefore the big bets you are facing are much more value heavy. You needed to find some more folds with 1 and 2 pair hands when lots of chippies are going in.

hows the turn call?

I think I like a check back on this turn, and we can do things on some rivers as well.... his range has to be narrow(er) since he called 3b, called flop.

However, as I type this, I am thinking maybe he does peel with 99-QQ and maybe he folds the turn to 2nd barrel. Real time you know the player better than I do obv.

I still probably check back the turn though.

As played, I think the call is fine, he has another 50-ish BB back, so I think the odds are there, and I don't mind it, but a turn check opens us up to this exact play from V, and that's why I like a check better.

But, I think I don't barrel enough, and perhaps I could learn a bit from this exact hand. I'd like to some of your thoughts about this and other barrel spots as well.

Was this a tough laydown OTR? Thoughts? I don't know if I find a fold here. I just sat here thinking about it for a while.

He flats you pre, bets flop, checks back turn, and then jams river? I really don't think it's AK, but could be, 6-6 I would expect a bet on the turn as well, and your hand is going to look like a river stab to him perhaps. The only real hand I can see that beats us is 4-4 that just stabbed flop, gave up, and then rivered the boat.

I would have called here prob, but I wasn't there at that table. I would call without some soul read I think.

I don’t mind turn call, it’s probably about break even, but after betting so small OTT how hero can fold river? Hero is losing to {66, A6, 67, 68s, AK, 33, AA} 1+4+8+2+6+3+1 or something like that.

Do you know how to fold?;)

I notice you are agro, but when I get agro like you seem to love doing, I lose fast. What do you think about the small ball concept of poker?

Could you please explain why you think these hands differ?

I have always struggled to understand why Ax is considered so good 3bet bluff hand given it has so much equity, but surely not against calling 3bet calling range when A hits. Don't we miss all EV value of the hand when 3betting on trusting fold equity?

1/ It blocks the most combos, (There are by definition more Ax combos of value than anything else)

2/ A2-5s have the most nut potential, and can also makestraights Kx cannot.

3/ we have been equity and better chances to realise it.

4/ when we flop top pair there are not overcards.

It kinda hurt, but i 2x pot it so not sure if you missed that. Ill be doing that polarised and this is the worst hand that ill 2x here. so it makes sense to fold it and call with boats.

Not sure if this is trolling but ill reply anyway. I obviously know how to fold. Small ball is a stupid crutch to justify passive play. its extremely hard to profit by cold calling and you open yourself up to getting squeezed far too often.

I don't troll, at least not intentionally. After years of being unable to play speed poker, we finally have a speed game at SB/BOL, and via the CC freerolls, I have a working BR at both.

I'm looking to improve a long neglected part of my game. So far I'm +, but it is a slow process. I don't have enough real money speed poker hands to get a real feel for my game. I do have a million play money hands at Stars Zoom, but that only accounts for so much.

I'll agree I let myself get squeezed more than my fair share of the time, but I counter that with not losing huge amounts fast, and when I know the villain is overly agro, I can win huge amounts fast because they see me as passive.

I would rather they see me a passively tricky. In order for that to happen I need to establish a better 3bet 4bet image.

Believe it or not, last week was the first time I EVER cold bluffed with 72. I stole the pot twice, and lost once. It was an ability I never cultivated.

So, please bear with me if I ask about stuff you think I already know. I don't, else I wouldn't ask.

Asking me if i know how to fold when literally scrolling up would show multiple fairly tight laydowns cannot be construed as anything other than trolling.

Cool, find me enough combos we beat that play like this and play river like this.
Our though process differs OTR. I would assign him almost the same range on the river than turn which contains lots of bluffs given paired board and small bet, and all hands he decided are good enough to value bet OTT. It’s true also that most of his bluffs got there with rivered A, but if he decided to plash OTT A is great card to continue bluffing, given most players would put hero to some sort of under pair.

Is this enough, dunno. Realistic range beating hero could be something like {66, AK, A6s, 67s, 33} , lets say close enough of 20 combos. To call river hero needs 28%. That would mean 6 combos needed to break even. With this logic It can’t be far?

Do you know how to fold?

I'm actually currently saying he folds too much =)

Button opens 40% {22+, A2s+, K2s+, Q6s+, J6s+, T6s+, 96s+, 86s+, 75s+, 64s+, 54s, A2o+, K9o+, Q9o+, J9o+, T9o}

BB has A3s, EQ vs Button 49%, equity needed for call around 30% direct odds to call with good marginal.

Given typical-widish calling range in 2NL zoom {55+, A7s+, KJs+, QJs, J9s+, T9s, 98s, 87s, ATo+, KQo} when called we play OOP, large pot, with equity around 40%.

It just does not seem righ. If A flopped, around 18% of the time, we have great equity edge 60%, but if we both flop A our hand is trash. It's not hard to imagine that those times both have A takes most of the profit away from the situations where only hero has A.

3/ explains partly why 3betting is better, but given the raw equity against opening range isn’t this a bit overkill?

This is moving the goal posts on me a bit... you asked why Ax is so much better to 3bet than Kx and Qx i said why. I never said it was an auto 3bet v all opponents. Nor did i say that you can 3bet it for value against opponents. BB is also somewhat of a cheeky case because its the only position you cant get squeeze from.
