-5.8 BI in 1600 hands doesnt even sound noteworthy TBH. I mean, sure it sucks but ive had sessions where i lost 10BI's playing perfectly whithin the first 500 hands.

Not trying to belittle your situation but im sure you know that a 6 BI downswing is more than standard.

I hope things turn around for you soon as im sure they will and remember we've ALL been there done that.

Keep playing your A-game and you will get back on track for sure.

Thanks, I appreciate the support you guys. I did make a couple of mistakes but felt that I played well for the most part, so it's all good. It's just the nature of the beast.

Yeah vinyl, I actually said just that to Fig yesterday. I know all of you have experienced much worse downswings that I have. So I'll be sure not to do too much whining. I've just go to take it in stride and focus on playing my best and developing my game.

I'm going to be headed to Milwaukee, WI on Wednesday and I am stoked! I've honestly been in Alabama way too long and cannot wait to put "Doggie Dachau" in my review. I'll be staying with friends and family while I'm in the Midwest for the next few months. Then after my sister's graduation and my cousin's wedding, both in June I'll be headed back down south to Florida for a bit.

I've been getting a bit burned out from grinding. So no poker for me this week. I'm just going to take it easy and enjoy myself for a change. However, I plan to come back as strong and motivated as ever! I'll be reevaluating my goals and most likely be making some adjustments to them which I will post here. Then it's back to work next week Tuesday!:D

I just wanted to drop by and say that even though I've been sleeping on Skype and the forums I have definitely still been grinding!! Been playing a lot of 1/3 at the local casino and I've been doing ok so far.

Wisconsin is the opposite of Alabama for me. In bama I couldn't find anything to do but in Milwaukee I can't find downtime. I've got a wedding to go to next month then I'm going to head somewhere a bit more peaceful. Until then I'll just keep hanging out at 1/3.

Ty.

The past few weeks have been refreshing indeed! Just trying to balance work and play I guess. I'll be going to the casino tonight and I wouldn't mind building a nice red pyramid. We'll see what happens.

Whoops, I didn't mean to let my thread die! My trip across the Midwest is over thank yeezus! I had a lot of fun and got to catch up with friends and family but I was having a hard time getting work done online whilst sofa surfing.

I just arrived in sunny Florida and plan to ride the rest of the year out here. I've got a stack of books to reread, a few coaching sessions already paid for and most importantly hands to play!! I've got some plans on how I'm going to take my game to the next level by years end. Stay tuned

weeeee glglgl

tytyty!

Where at in FL? Hows the action??
I'm about 30 minutes south of Sarasota Florida. They have a kennel club there that has a card room and the Hard Rock in Tampa is about two hours away from me. I haven't gone and checked them out yet but from what I've heard around the felt in Milwaukee the games are supposed to be extremely juicy! I might be able to check it out this weekend so I'll keep you posted.

In. Herro.
Ayyee ;)

So I've been easing myself back into my normal play schedule slowly but surely. Normally I'd play six hours a day six days a week, taking Mondays off. I'm going to cut myself another week of slack as I work up to that but then it's on!! So far at the online tables I feel pretty good. I had a wierd session yesterday. I was playing on BCP and Bovada and I didn't really notice it until the end of my session but I was getting totally out of line on Bovada like 26/19 but I was playing very solidly at BCP like 17/14. I've got to rein that in.

Been having decent sessions I guess. They're mostly good but I seem to make one huge blunder that kind of ruins the whole session for me. I guess I've got a bit of rust to shake off yet.

I was having some fun with AK today. Here's a few..

Sounds good dude.

I'm running pretty bad lately. My draws not getting there but the villains draws are, running into the tops of ranges, set over set etc.. It's frustrating but necessary and honestly after such a long break from the virtual felt I'm glad happening now. What better wake my game up than diving head first into the frigid waters of variance!?

That said, let me be clear though. I haven't been playing my best either. It's obvious to me that I'm a bit rusty in practice in a few areas. I'm more prone to tilting. Which is causing me to be more impulsive than I am normally. There are other things, like math that I could use a refresher in as well.

Let me end on a positive note by saying that there are some things I am understanding more clearly, like hand ranges. I had to do a good bit of adjusting playing live because of the excessive amount limp calling that was going on. I think being forced to adjust a bit helped me to better understand what kind of ranges I'm up against. I've been able to sniff out more bluffing opportunities and thin value bets as a result.

Starting to feel a bit demoralized lately but I felt very good about how I played today.

To bet or not bet the turn?

AcKc on the paired Q board is a normal double barrel for me, if they call twice not another cent goes in. These boards are very difficult to call twice without a Q and I'm pretty sure the Zion training was that a double is required to get the JJ TT to fold.

AK the fold preflop, its a big overbet which makes me wonder what hand is doing that into two players, at least JJ+ I suppose so flipping at best, if I was oop I'd definitely fold. I just don't like 3betting AK for value and then laying it down especially in position.
But with the strength shown, if we flat the 4 bet we are going to whiff 2/3 of the time and are going to have to fold too often on the flop to a likely very large pot committing flop bet. So yeah 5bet or fold here with the sizing in this hand.

AK on the T high flop, no one folds on a T high flop to a single cbet (stats apparently show that more players call a cbet on a T high flop than any other board) so unless you are planning to double barrel oop then cbetting once is a no no for me, its double or nothing. He's called a big 3bet so he's got a decent pair or AK AQ most of the time so we don't beat much I'm happy just to give up immediately here and John has told me several times to give up these spots when we whiff the flop oop with AK
