That's kind of what I was thinking. I know it's a big deal if you're trying to play in big games or home games. It something I should work on a tiny bit I think.

On a side note, I haven't read much the past week but I'm going to get to back to it. I've got a few pages to finish "Proffesional No Limit Holdem". Then I plan to cruise through "How to Read hands at No limit Holdem". It looks like it's maybe 140 pages max. I also picked up a couple of psychology books as well. I'm going to start in on "Predictably Irrational" today.

Also, I'm thinking about buying flopzilla. Have any of you used it or similar software ? What are your thoughts?

If you're going to focus on live/put some time into it, pick up Reading Poker tells and Verbal poker tells from Zach Ellwood. They're the GOAT for that category.

Also, I got a few hand excerpts in verbal poker tells as well, so I have to push it now :)

I'll have to check those out. I'm definitely going to be grinding live in the future.

How do you all feel about this here??

I had an identical hand to this tonight and decided to fold it on the turn, too much AK out there for my liking in 3 bet pots.
On your run out it has to be a good fold, what are you beating that raised preflop? A9s is about it. The best you can hope for is a chop if you call.
MP2 is tight as well so CO is probably stronger than usual here. AA AK JJ AJs its all there

AQ fold seems soooo gross, but at the same time i dunno what we beat.

QQ river sucks but not sure what else to do

AQ is a call.

With the QQ I was thinking that he wouldn't have many 7's but over's and sets mostly. I wasn't sure what I wanted to do on the turn but what do you think about shoving over his 3bet? I didn't think he would get it in with many of the over's that I was beating..

I did call with AQ and the guy had Q4.

Been taking a beating on BOL. I'll post some hands later..

I'm the co, I have 97s. I probably should have 4bet or folded in hindsight. I'm leaning away from folding though because this guy was really laying into me and I felt like I had to be defending somehow.

Here's another wit the guy where I came out on top.

That's pretty much what I did was sigh and call. He had AQ. It was probably bad.

It would have been better if you could spoiler his cards so they don't influence the analysis.
Prior to seeing the cards the first thing that came to mind was that this was a strong move by MP but once UTG calls then I expected to see strong ranges from both players.
As it was played it's pretty clear from check calling that UTG has something here and maybe puts MP on AK. Not many players will raise AQ from MP over UTG so really he's gambling you have one of 16 combos of AK rather than QQ+.
Once you understand that UTG has some part of it a lot of the time it's going to be Qx or 88 99 TT JJ The only way to shift him is to use the scare card K and shove on the end. If he put you on AK you just made it so regardless of spr I would have bluffed here and expect him to lay down everything except very strong holdings. You told a strong story and he has no reason to think you don't have it on the end.
AJ doesn't have enough showdown value on its own here I would have to bluff all in, in this spot.

Of course I understand why you didn't especially as the K should also hit his ranges as well. This is how our analysis gets skewed by seeing his cards. It all depends on what you think he's check calling with. I certainly wouldn't be putting him on a draw in those circumstances.

Indeed. I think I could have checked the turn and given up. Otherwise I should have just 1/2p both and shove the river. I felt like I had no fold equity against what I perceived his range to be but I wouldn't need to get a fold very often for the river shove to be ok.

Chin up lad we don't give up just because the going gets tough.
I have noticed an increase in the amount of times I'm getting raised both pre and on both the flop and turn by the regs, it's getting tougher no doubt. I can't remember any time when I've had to 4bet and bluff reraise so much. Thankfully it's mostly working. It's like everyone is trying to play like Doyle advocates I SS2.
Got to stand up and fight back straight away then the bullies avoid you.

I was talking with John about confidence and motivation yesterday as I don't feel like I want to play much now either. I'm just messing about at the moment but I have a lot on my mind as you're probably aware.

I feel you. I've been dealing with some headaches as well. My issue is that I'm out of practice. I'm not as tough mentally as I have been and I'm getting tilted by the variance. I titled then quit last night but as I reviewed my session I realized that I was mostly happy with how I played just not thrilled with the results.
