In cash games, the stacks are usually deeper, the blinds are always at the same level and you can top up the stack at any time. This means you should never "do something" as you might need to in a tournament. And it also means a more involved post-flop game. In connection with all this, cash games require a completely different strategy compared to tournaments.
Cash games are really harder than tournaments. And everything is explained quite simply.
First, tournaments attract more fish. As a rule, poker tournaments are shown on TV, so all their poker heroes are tournament players.
Tournaments allow you to quickly turn a small amount of money into a huge, with due luck, of course. And anyone can be lucky. We've seen it many times.

Tourney's vs Cash Games

Is cash games more difficult to accumulate profit or are they as hard as tournaments.
I live here in NV. I play both cash games and tournaments. I definitely prefer the cash games, why?...There is never the constant and ever present pressure of the blinds going up, which coincides with my TAG style of playing. In a cash game, one can just kick back and play ABC poker, which is NOT the case when you play a tournament. I do play tourney's, but I play online, and only one table Sit & Go's....Anyway, that's my 2 cents worth on the topic.....Ronster

Cash games are definitely harder, but it's also less annoying than free rolls.

In free rolls you have people going all in with any hand, in cash games, anyone who goes all in most likely has a big hand. Don't over play your cards, and don't buy in with all your bank roll lol. Try not to bring more than 5% of your bank roll at once.

Cash games are much harder.
There are infinite factors to take into consideration, or rather exponentially more complicated.
Dynamics are undefined and ever changing.

Tourney parameters allow for greater strategic application within a defined playing environment.

Like war within a defined boundary, versus war stretched across immeasurable distance.

I enjoy cash games better. I think it depends on how you play. I am much tighter at a cash game then online.

i would believe that a cash game would be harder as far as the quality of players verses a tournament

I just prefer Cash

I like the freedom of cash games... play for ten mins. That's freedom. I suffered a lot with tilt though and obviously need to stay on top of that. It's hard when things are not going your way. It can easily lead to very bad decisions. I think I used to make my sessions too long and recently have reduced session time. Poker will always be there.

Tourneys just are not for me. I feel trapped once it starts and the variance is insane to me. I find there are a lot of terrible players and I know all too well they just don't fold... So I sit there for hours and BAM some guy just crushes my already easily tilted soul. I also understand that the concepts are different which means that sometimes you should call hands that you don't want to. which again brings me back to cash... you never have to play a hand in cash games... if you're capable of it, you can lay it down... the blinds will never change.

Is cash harder I dunno really there are good and bad players everywhere.. Tilt is my worst enemy in cash games... If I can conquer tilt there are always gonna be people willing to part with the CASH.

I think it depends the stakes your playing. micro stakes cash games are faster and I think easier. but one good tourney in a reasonable buyin could pay out more than I won in all past cash games.

are cash games harder

my opionion is yes cash games are harder due to the fact the person is actually putting out the money to play so therefore will be a game of more advanced players vs ones people dont pay to play in so they take chances they normally woudnt take if it was costing them.

That is an impossible question to answer. They are 2 different animals. But best way to answer is what fits your skill set? Cash or MTT?

I’m torn with this question because although I agree that in cash games people play tighter I also agree that you can make money, quicker, if you go to showdown with a winning hand as compared to an MTT where you can win a pot but it’s only chips added onto your stack and if you don’t make it ITM- you end up losing; there’s also the possibility of losing less money with a losing hand this way in contrast. I personally like doing both for some diversity, but no idea which is more profitable in the long run 🤷*♂️; Maybe it depends on your bankroll.

In my opinion it's not harder, but risky to lose your money fast, but anyway you can leave the table anytime so its way easier than seat ~6-12 hours playing MTT.

The cash game is easier than the tournaments, You can go up and out with benefits on cash game, provided that you are a good player equip with good cash game strategy and plans, it can be very profitable, otherwise in tournaments a lot of luck comes into play for you to qualify in ITM.

Cash games for me. Tournaments place a barrier between me and the money, and is easier to just focus on the game with no money attached to it.

Cash games and tournaments are two different mindsets. I personally like cash games specifically to play when I want and leave when I want. I like tournament promotions like the BOSS and MOSS and OSS. Those tournaments certain tournaments that have great bargain buy ins-to-GTD$ ratios.

I don't think they are harder. Cash games have less variance than tournaments. With that said, I think if you are a good tournament player you can achieve greater success ($$$) than a cash player.

I think, that cash games are much harder than tournaments and I would chose to play tournament instead of cash games, because in cash 1 mistake worth all money, but in tournaments it not.

Cash games are tough. Their can be huge swings. You will need multiple buyins and deep pockets to play cash games. The good thing about tourneys is less stress and more controlled environment. Becuase most tournaments put a limit on buy ins. And once you have bought in you play with the same chips as everyone else. It's super easy.

Personally, I always obtained better results in the cash tables than by playing MTT. It depends on each one. Playing cash on the pokerstars platform is profitable for me because you have the "zoom" option and you do not need to wait for the others to finish playing if you throw your hand

I think cash games are easier at the lower stakes. Cash players play far fewer hands than most online players. More hands = more experience and usually a better player.
