It's kind of a coin flip when you break it down. It all depends on how many people are in the tourney. If you play a $1000 guranteed tourney and theres only 3 payouts usually 1st is 500.....at least here at the casinos I play at. You spend about 4-5 hours playing so you average about 100/hr. You hop into a 1/2 game for that amount of time you can average the same but you will have a higher % of fluctuating change in cash. At the end of the day it just depends on what you play and how you play that determines what game is more profitable.

it is of course much more difficult to make these cash games profitable because if the variant is not on your side you will suffer heavy losses. So it is easier to manage your bank by playing tournaments.

I think it's comparable to standing in line at the supermarket waiting to pay.

Whichever line you're in, the other one seems to be moving faster. :)

The difficulty of the game depends on the limit in which you will play. So on NL2 players will give you money, on NL1000 you will give money.

I think the same situation in tournaments, the difficulty depends on buyin.

Cash games I play rarely, but if I play, I prefer anonymous tables because you can avoid being targated by sharks, tracking software free zone.
In NL2 playing ABC poker is pretty easy to win.

I like to play cash tournaments ... but there is also a lot of risk there, sometimes some people are very confident ... so there you shouldn't forget:p

I play a lot of tourneys as well as cash games. The variance in tournament play is sick and stressful but more profitable for me in the long run. I don't find either one "Harder" than the other, I just know that I may only cash in 3 or 4 of every 10 tournaments and that may be even less at higher stakes as opposed to a steadier but less profitable day at cash tables.

Cash games are easier from the tournament. Why?In cash game if you make a mistake and lose your stack you can always re-buy and correct that mistake while on tournament you are gone forever. Also cash games are way more shorter and don't have antes as well but assuming that you don't play on the tables with huge buy-in it is harder to earn some huge amount of money then it would be if you play tournament.

Cash games can be more profitable than tournaments depending upon your ability and the stakes you play. You must be a good cash game player (at any level) in order to play well at the stakes you are accustomed to..my 2/5 cents worth. For instance, play the same people in cash, SNG and tourney's. What has changed...aggression...type of pot involvement...?

Personally I would say they are easier, but it also depends on a lot of factors....

For instance, if your not being selective of the tables you play at. End up sitting down with a table full of sharks that understand the game better then you. You might as well just set your money of fire. But if you can consistently get into the soft games you will make easy money. Assuming you can be patient enough to get max value on hands that they are willing to pay you off on....

That brings up another point. Cash games need a lot more patients then MTTs or SnG.... cause you tend to play a lot tighter, face and offer a much larger bet sizing, and will almost always showdown hands that are verifiably worth an entire stack in most cases.... in tournaments it's all about monoverablity, and out exploiting your opponat's. Whole Cash is very GTO based.... since GTO is pretty cut and dry for the most part, and you can understand it, and truely play it like it was ment to be played without being resualts oriented. GTO can become very tedious and boring, thus you start to spew off chips because you get board.... unlike exsploitive play where your monovering your actions, and consistently adjusting to diffrent player types to get the advatage which make the game much more harder. But a lot less boring, cause of the consistent action.

Is cash games more difficult to accumulate profit or are they as hard as tournaments.
For me they are as hard as the tournaments as well because it's all poker and still poker, but it's all good that u asked.

Hi.
I believe that cash games are more difficult than tournaments. I have always lost in cash games, but sometimes in tournaments I manage to win some money.
Good luck.

No cash games are not harder because people play a more honest hand. They don't go all in with junk because they have money to lose , not like in freerolls.

Cash games are a skill game while poker tournaments are real gambling. Cash games do not have group subsidy, they risk a lot to win a little. Cash games are for highly skilled long term, high quantity hands grinder players looking to make a steady profit and a must BRM. Since their is actual money in front of you the game gets predatory.

i play 8 game mix, 6 max cash games on Stars. up $17 this week so far.

more skill involved in cash games? that's debatable. if you are a solid player, it's easier to make a profit in cash games than it is in tournaments. one big mistake in a tournament and you could be out, where as in a cash game, you can just reload...

I think cash eaiser to earn money and easier to lose money. In MTT you pay 1 time and you can play without risk to lose more money which you can lose in cash.

In cash games you dont have to worry about things like icm, but the play is usually at much deeper stack depths. Think most people are more comfortable playing at shallower stack depths.

For me cash game is an abillity to fast earn and also fast lose money. However "fast earning" is just faster then MTT, but "fast losing" is really fast - just one cooler, one runner runner and you've lost heart.
Yeah, I prefer MTT cause it's cheaper. And I like cash games too. But you should be ready for situation when you are playing for 3-4 hours and you earned 0.5% of start stack. And after next hand you lose entire stack. It's the easiest way to tilt. Just be careful!

I prefer to play in tournaments. Cash needs more diligence and attention with experience.

Of course not ,the villains are predictable because most of them only enter in the hand with high cards

10 handed is what makes it difficult. That's why a lot of tournaments are difficult
