Update.

Have moved my entire roll from stars to GGPoker for the time being, will benefit from sign up bonus and reevaluate after this.

Had a large BIunderEV swing my first week on GG, down 12 buyins, and running about 8 under EV, so graph is negative on GGpoker. However, the rakeback, leaderboard, cash drops and badbeat jackpots have meant that I'm actually up on the site quite a bit :)

Not sure how to combine my pokerstars graph with my GG one to make one single graph.

bankroll: $370
Profit $210
Stakes 5nl.

Next update won't likely be for a couple of weeks at least and have something to show.

Thought I'd post my GG graph haha. I'm seeing 10 buyins under EV.

I'm actually up on the site though. Thank you rake back; sign up bonus; leaderboards; bad beat jackpots and cashdrops rofl.

GGpoker variance is insane with the high rake. I'm making a profit with rakeback currently. When I run better, I should make more :)

Update:

Still haven't had a big winning session in over two months. Not sure I've ever seen a stretch of cards quite like this in my life. Been playing 12 years. The most I've won in a single 6 hour session (I play 6 days a week) the last two months is four buyins. FOUR!

The good news is that I'm making a profit during this run. GG has insane rake back and rewards and I've been luckboxing some of the GGcooler tournaments.

Still playing 5nl

Bankroll $664
Profit Circa $480

with reaching nl25 I would be more than calm, but I recognize that I was never tenacious and persistent so I never left nl2 in almost two years. I gave up and now play freerol tournaments trying to bank. Maybe one day I will try again in cash but I am not disciplined.

300$ is pretty good bankroll for NL5, I think u can even take a shot with 15 buy-ins and if losing then moving back, I think that ur ready if u could beat NL2, there isn't that big difference between NL5 and NL2, good luck!

Thanks guys, as you have said ghitocarcia, I have reached 25nl in the past so I know I can do it again. Just really frustrating to have a two month stretch where I don't make more than four buyins haha. But my upswing will come! I am also going to make some minor adjustments to my game. Double barrel a bit less, and remove a few of the 3bet/4bet bluffs that I have, I don't need to be this balanced at 5nl

Thanks Kristersb, I think you mistakenly read the first post in this topic that is from about 5 years ago :) I have made some progress since then. See above here ^

All the best.

If anyone is wondering what a 21 buyin downswing looks like, then look no further xD and YES they do happen to winning players over short samples as shown here. Make sure you have a good bankroll :) I went from $766 yo $665 in two days. Luckily, I'm almost back to 765 due to rake back and dropping the tables to really crush the games.

I check this thread from time to time to see how you're doing. That downswing is rough! Your mental game seems tight, am sure you'll make it if you keep plugging away :)

I think rake at GG is unbeatable except the very high stakes. You might try obviously, but I think you are better off playing at pokerstars.

sometimes watch for the success of other players is very useful, so the belief that the poker game is not a waste of time, good luck)

Thanks a lot, I will keep updating this throughout my poker career, and hopefully people are interested, but so far this year, it's not as interesting as last year, when I climbed the stakes quickly.

The height of the downswing is actually 27buyins and I lost 10 buyins in 30 minutes a couple of days ago. It was really testing for me. More info below about what I've done to change this.

I can confirm rake is not beatable for any significant winrate. I think if I ran like I would expect I might beat it for a few bb/100 but that's not worth it imo. I have actually moved to pokerstars as of this morning. I can use my HUD, grind regular tables and really focus on table selection and owning fish.

I try to follow as many other poker players as my attention span will allow :) thank you.

So, guys, to no one specifically, this is my graph on GG poker. I can show you all that I actually made -$50 over 131k hands. I ran terribly, but also the rake is ridiculously high. The first 70k hands or so are reg tables, the second 60k is the rush and cash where rake is lower, however I went on a 28 buyin downswing from hand 95k to 131k hands. It is, of course, the worst swing I have ever been on and it was tough for me.

I have decided that I do not want to grind rush and cash for 5bb/100 with HUGE swings, I am moving back to pokerstars where I can use my HUD and really look to exploit opponents, rather than play a more GTO leaning style.

Will update in due course. Here is my graph on GG. Overall, I made 350 dollars but that was all from leaderboards and rakeback.

3 month dowswing has been brutal. Currently, playing 2nl for 12 tables at a time to book some solid winning sessions. Will play 2nl for at least the rest of the month before moving back to 5nl. Three months of solid losing has taken its toll on my love for the game, but I won't give up. Ill put in insane volume at 2nl and make profit that way.

Update coming in a week.
