You should be trying to play speculative hands. Like 76s, even 43s. Find ways to get to the flop cheaply with low pocket pairs. Also understand what your opponents are doing. If they’re doing the same thing or playing tight you can exploit them. Don’t try to stack off with JJ+ or AK preflop. I’d save the 4 and 5 betting for when the stacks aren’t so deep.

Good question...

You need to play very passive in the beginning. Let all the donkeys out. Then play tight aggressive.
