So I've manage to accumulate $7 in profits on 888 poker in 1 week on free rolls, I've deposited $10 initially and now I'm at 17 should I play Low Level MTT's or just stick to free rolls until I'm more confident and have a higher bank roll? I'don't really want too get into my own $10 that i deposited rather play on 888's money.. So far I've only I've only managed too place 46 in a tourney of 2000+ but they are turbo. I'm more confident playing acr freerolls at the 10 minute mark, are all mtt's on 888 turbo? any suggestions?
This is a good start from only playing for one week, but if it was me I personally would stick to the free-rolls for a while longer, Its a good start because my first win was only 32 cents and it took me a while to get that!
Poker variance could mean you are incredibly lucky, or an incredibly talented player, but with every upswing in your game you will encounter downswings as well, so practice is the best policy,
Don't be too eager to start raising your stakes, I made my own limits to when I started to buy into other games and on
pokerstars, I started with the 10 cent games only when I had $20 in my
bankroll, then moved up to 25 cent buy-ins when I made my first $50, After that I played the 50 cent games, and now I play $3.00 buy-in game on a regular basis. It took a while but patience is a virtue,
I have never made a deposit on any site and have built up a small, but comfortable bankroll's on a few, and many professional players will tell you to stay within your limits, and not to rush things, General rule to follow is never to buy-in for more than 1% of your total bankroll.
So before you start buying-in to $1.00 games, have at least $100 in your bankroll. Doyle Brunson recommends that if you want to buy into any cash game, you should only sit down at a table if you can take a minimum of 100 X the big blind with you, and that is the bare minimum, He prefers to sit down with 200 X if he is playing high stakes Poker.
Take it slow, Poker is going to be around for a long time, so there is no need to rush in, all guns blazing. Keep it fun but remember--
When the fun Stops, STOP!
