I prefer normal tournaments, for my taste it is less pressure for me, I think my game is more solid playing normal tournaments than playing turbo tournaments, but with sit and go I like turbo, and when they are sit and go HU I like hyper
I also prefer turbo and hyper turbo tournaments, because you don't need to spend a huge amount of time on them, and you come to the desired result faster.
I agree, there really is no fun in playing Hyper games, as the blinds go up so fast it soon becomes a shove or fold fest in no time, Normal games gives the patient player an edge, and the time to study his opponents and make the right decisions.
If it a freerolls I prefer it to be a turbo and the prize pool to be top heavy like a $25 freerolls with only top 3 get paid. It encourages me to play alot more reckless and play to win.
If it's a real money buy in I definitely prefer a normal speed tournament so I can get more play in before the bubble.
The danger of being eaten by rapidly growing blinds forces the player to make questionable decisions, which has a bad effect on the quality of not only this game, but also future games. That's why I prefer a normal game.
It depends on the number of tables I play. I like to play only one table the most, and then turbo and normal speed suit me the most, and when I play more tables, then I need more time to play, so slower formats are more suitable for me.
I have learned to play all types of tournament. I like to play normal tournaments it gives you more time to think of a good strategy and to pick up good hands. But, playing turbo tournaments is also good though the difference, I think, is that have to go all-in more often when your stack is getting lower faster
I wrote on the other post i think but i like play normal or even slow play tournament. You have got more time to get up on higher stake. In turbo or hiper you have to go all in much more often so it's determine you to have luck with all in which i don't have so i think slower play is better for me.
