Just capped off a -$26.50 session by getting knocked out by a river two-outer. Happy, happy days... :p

  1. Focus on $2 single-table SNGs exclusively (including the Double Deuce super satellite).
  2. Qualify for (and play) the Double Deuce satellite once and play the Double Deuce if I qualify.
  3. Qualify for (and play) the FTPA $5000 Freeroll.
  4. Qualify for (and play) the Iron Man One-a-Day Freeroll.
  5. Play at least 2 out of 4 Sunday $1000 Freeroll (Benelux only) at PokerStars.
  6. (Re)read Harrington on Hold'em I, II and work my way through III.
  7. Finish reading the Poker Mindset.

So far I qualified for the DD satellite and the FTPA Freeroll. I played one Sunday $1000 Freeroll and finished 472 of 5000 (making $0.50 ). I also finished the Poker Mindset (but I started reading in Feb) and re-read HoH Vol I.

Having a good month so far. I tried 9 tables for the first time yesterday and it went okay. I can only do that on the desktop during the day though -will have to stick to 6 tables at night.

Yeaa... a new month! My goals will be simple:
  1. Play at least 550 sng's.
  2. Reach Gold Star Status for first time!
  3. Resume coaching.
  4. Any ROI will do as long as it is not negative lol.
Good luck to all of you!

I'm confused about your #4. Shouldn't the goal be to make money?

More real dollars earning is better than better ROI percentages.

I mean it's better to make $200 from $5 SNG's with a low ROI% than $100 from $2 SNG's with a high ROI%.

But playing to be slighly happier than break even at best seems like a strange goal to me.

Are you only playing for rewards points?

Of course I want to win and play to win. But after a negative ROI in February I am just being realistic.

I could say I want an ROI of 50% lol.

I was wondering what you all run on your hud stats for sngs
Im running vpip/pfr%/ag f
flop-fold%/ attsteal/foldbb2steal/winning%

Im looking to start multitabling right now I start a 2nd game when the first is down to 5 players usually 80/160 100/200 in blinds. Running at 33.69 roi and itm at 50% over small sample of 126 games and I am hoping to increase hourly win rate by multitabling.Any input is mucho appreciato:D

for SNGs I don't think any HUD stuff past VPIP/PFR/AttSteal/FoldBBToSteal is particularly important.

i could even make a case for nothing past VPIP/PFR being important.

After playing a dozen $2+25c SNGs, and being truly amazed that there is actually a game on this planet softer than I've seen before, and taking enough bad beats that I'm only even, and playing horribly myself.
I'm hooked I think.

Adding my monthly goal as:
>100 SNGs
And to learn the basics.
Also I'd like to beat the obvious rocket scientists I'm playing against, even if not by much.

Why not play fewer tables then? Start 2-4 at a time and see if you make more $.

Hand 1 - It just criminal that you don't 3-bet here to isolate.

Hand 2 - Standard

1 - Umm yeah just jam pre, calling is awful. As played I just fold flop to the first bet.

2 - Completely standard. Actually you can probably shove ATC here.

Thanks both for you thoughts I thought 2nd was standard just thought maybe I should have waited a hand, I am trying to become a better player and not surf the net while playing really study the game etc and I enjoy the 18 man games over the 9 man but I need to get some experiance of what I should shove and when instead of min cashing here and there then getting a few 1st and 2nds now and again basically start again from the ground up lol....

Fewer tables would most likely have the opposite affect. Anyway - had a good month in January, Feb was negative but not horrible and March is off to a good start. I am sure - and my coach agrees after reviewing games and hands with me - that I just ran into some bad variance. There is really no need for me to go backwards just because I don't run good for a few weeks.

LOL. Nothing like having a 9 buy-in downswing, min 4th place cash, 3 buy-in downswing, then cash cash in next 3 games (1st, 4th, 4th) to get yourself back to almost even...(still -$4.)

While the downswings suck, I dont mind losing 14-15 games and then winning/cashing in 3-5 games and showing a profit...

Just a basic question but in high blinds when SB starts shoving ATC (the position where you shove the widest, if I'm correct?) this seems to create an interesting dynamic on the table, since it's something that you know is going to happen near 100% of the time (after seeing that he knows what he's doing anyway).

It makes BB's correct calling range wider especially if he's on the short stack, however since we're usually on the bubble or ITM at this point, he still has to fold a lot if he's not short stacked because he needs to not just be ahead of SB's range, but have it crushed (i.e. big A's, mid-high PP's) depending on payout structure. Correct?

Also assuming neither of the blinds is desperately short stacked, it seems like a mistake on the button's part that SB gets the chance to shove at all. Button's range should be only slightly more selective that SB's for open shoving. Correct?

Am I missing anything obvious here, or do I have this about right..
