Hello.
I do not see any problem in that. If late registration lasts three hours, then more players will take part and accordingly there will be more number of prize places. In addition, if you do not like such tournaments, you always have the choice and you can play tournaments without late registration.

I remember being late to register for tournaments and not being able to play,, 3 hour late reg is too much... I like to register on time and build a stack. i see ppl join 2.5 hours into the tourney double a few times and become table chip lead in 5 mins. Registering 2.5 hours late gives a mental edge over someone who been making decisions for 2.5 hours IMO "Especially if they double up a few times fast". 1 hour late reg is no problem, but anymore is too much.

30 to 60 min i think is the most you should have. Also re-buys should be limited so you don't get players constantly re-buying and going all in. It spoils the game for us that want to play poker not just gambling.

A few sites I will just play our freerolls. BCP has gotten bad at having only long late registrations. Even their sng are like that. I used to really like that site.

Yeah these late registrations have to be addressed because there are becoming too time consuming. With the tournaments already running 4-6 hours plus in some cases, it can be very exhausting towards the later rounds and could give someone an edge if they are allowed to enter hours after the start of the tournament.

All the Cash Tourneys I see usually only last an hour. Freerolls I've been seeing crazy amount of time for late registration. In reality though by the time the last person can come in the blinds are so damn far that if they come in and jam it doesn't really affect anything , just the Overall Prize at the end of the tourney.

it's not always easy because I've often seen players enter at the last minute before the end of registrations and the blind is high but the odds are in their direction and are doubling or tripling the first time, and I I have done this several times I enter the last minute before the end of registration and I am waiting for a good hand and I play all in and I am at a comfortable position ;)

I always thought late reg should be shorter for tourneys. That's a reason why I play hyper and turbo mtt's most of the time.. it's usually between 25 and 60 minutes. I try to do not play if it's over 60.

But for someone on a 7-9-12 hours session playing 4-6-12 tables, it doesn't really change nothing.. they just play their game.

late registration favors the house and those who think that they are lucky. You come in at about 6x the blinds and need to hit immediately. If you like that go for it. Is is a good thing, it is what it is.

I try to avoid any tournament with to long of a late registration period. I have a life, kids and a job and playing 3 hours with late registration just is to much for me so I dont play them. Actually since the late registration have been getting longer I find myself playing less. I think anything longer that a hour is to much. Its nice to have the bigger prize pools but I would rather not see them and have so long of a late registration.

I don't like long registration times. At the local casino where I play, they tend to have very long registration / re-entry times. For one of their 3-day tournaments, registration lasted for like 8 hours on the first day. I think this is ridiculous. I can understand having registration lasting maybe the first 3 blind levels, but no more. With long registration times, there is less fear in players at the beginning since they have a long time to get back in the game.

Late check-lasting 3:00 is designed to compete with the stronger players in the longer period of time. The tournament was given an advantage to those players who are able not only to survive the period of registration but also to accumulate a good stack. At a later stage, they remain largely.

It seems that way to me also:0) I myself do not like them, I think 1 hour registration should be it.

My opinion

They have registrations for all types of people. They want you to sit and think about your exact tournament rather then just play any tournament at random. If you just play a tournament at random they think you are just making the money at one tournament dumping to another tournament for investment privileges.

A lot of late registrations are now going on for 3 hours. How long do you think these should be. Years ago you either did not have them or they were limited to an hour.

Now you have no idea how many players will be in a tournament except a rough guess by the guaranteed amount. It can also create a funny situation where sometimes players have not has to play and last the first few hours of a tournament, late reg just before it closes and while entering extremely short stacked can enter at a point when sometimes more than 50% of the remaining field are paid.

Should registrations be shorter?
like i agree 1 hour of late reg is fine but like acr offers 5hrs of late reg which is unacceptable,it just exhausts players at the end so many time i have entered early and after playing straight 3hrs and 4hrs i get exhausted and started making dumb decisions which lead me to tilt and i give away my chips ,it shouldnt be more than an hour

Hello! As for me, late registration must be removed. It only makes tournaments longer. There is no need in it.

I think an argument could be made that the length of the late reg period actually benefits you.

Because the blinds are always increasing, a person who registers late might have a lower chance of finishing in the money. Therefore, his money just adds to the prize pool......a prize pool that he is less likely to finish in than most others in the field.

There may be a point in the blind structure where buying in isn't a good idea but people do it anyway.

Late reg just shows how lucky you have to be, just look it some of the Bovada or ignition sites to watch those late reg players make final table or even win.
How i dont know, specially when ur coming in 200BB plus behind the leaders. I was in tournament and saw the last guy # like 872 join the table, I go back way later after it ended and saw he won it, I'm like I played for 4 hours and couldn't get my stack over 3x my start but this dude comes in last second, Sum bull-chit

I know that ACR's late reg is way to long it is crazy they are allowing 12-15 stages of late reg which is crazy I think. I think they should cut it down to 3-4 levels and that's it that should give players plenty of time to decide weather or not they want to register after the tournament has started. You don't need anymore than that it is just getting crazy after that. and like the OP stated half the field are cashing because they are allowing that much time to register. They need to get a grip on it and lower late registration time it really is getting out of hand.
