Yeah, stacks and blinds definitely enter the decision. When I do limp behind (and I almost never open limp), it's when then the blinds are tiny relative to my stack.

Open limping in early middle possy with small pairs(22-9's) is fine, as were hoping to get a big multiway pot with bad players behind us and when we hit our set, were more likely to get paid.

If were limping behind, we want to have hands that play well postflop, hands like AJoff arn't really those type of hands. If and when we decide to go nuts with TPDK in a multiway pot, its more likely that they will outflop us as there is more people in the pot. So were generally going to be playing a pot control line. Thus, id prefer isoraising with hands like AJ off as, we really don't want the blinds in cheaply, we just want to get heads up against the obvious fish. But i'm limping behind with AJsuited, as its suitedness adds a lot of value to the hand, and it plays much better postflop. And we don't really mind the blinds behind us calling.

It is interesting - my first coach advised limping in EP and MP with small pairs too - but my new coach says fold them. He is super super tight in the early game and very aggressive late. Must be doing something right!

who is your new coach? It sort of depends on buy in level a bit, i mean, if your in games regularly with 6-7 regs, open limping with pairs isn't great, but in low stakes, with tons of fish, eagar to stack off with TPDK, it seems like a really good idea to open limp..

Yeah, of course everybody has a different idea of strategy so go with what works. Personally, I used to play any PP from any position, but I've learned from other solid players as well as authors who advise to fold small pairs in EP and even MP. So I'm often folding 22-55 in those spots, but I'll limp behind with good implied odds for set mining.

One thing you can do if you have HEM or PT3 is to run a report of those small pairs by position and see how (un)profitable they are to open with OOP. That's one thing that opened my eyes -- I was losing money with them. Granted, this was in cash games, tourneys may take a slightly different strategy. Still many of the tourney strategies I've read suggest folding these early unless you're desperate. As I recall, HoH advises folding all small PP's when your M is in the orange zone, but then shoving them when you're in the red.

He is one of the coaches at Team Moshman. I will send you his usernames if you want to look him up. :)

Heh, they sure are, the key is finding a fish and playing them a lot of games in a row...

And is that quote out of the movie "in bruge"?

Started 6 tabling today and had fun, pretty much getting my arse handed to me but while at first it frustrated me now I am finding it quite funny that people are getting the exact cards they need to win when dominated, hope I get rb from full tilt think I need a break from stars (not a rigged thing lol) and from sngs it would be nice to have a chance to reload after seeing someone hit a 2 outer or running straight cards etc. Good thing is I am accumalating chips in most games so just wait for hands to hit I may have a chance at hitting some chance of the volume prop.

Marginal I havnt played hyper turbo heads up but got addicted to the hyper turbo sngs at tilt for a night was amazing watching the br swing up and down and fun aswell watching nits play em is so much fun too. Hmm may go and do some on stars with my points when I get back from my walk.

Oh also why is it when you someone sucks out on you sometimes they say sorry I never usally win a race  Im like erm you just took all my chips when behind lol. Meh walk then more poker I will be glad when this bet is over.

^^^ unlucky. Sucks to get beat by the infamous ace on the river.

But if he had shoved pre as he probably should have, instead of limping and calling down his whole stack, the outcome would have been the same (surely you call a shove with TT against a <3M SS?). So while his decision to get it in slowly instead of preflop seems stupid, especially given your pfr, getting it in here seems pretty standard nonetheless.

Of course this being FullTilt with their constant shuffle, a completely different board would have peeled off since there would be no delay for further action, so you might have actually held up... ;)

I was getting crushed so stopped playing sng's for the past several days. I am on my way to Vegas and will be meeting up with Team Moshman so maybe some of their sng victory juice will spill on me lol. I will be meeting my coach and he said we could talk about what I should be playing.

Inflight wifi is the nutz!!!

Daks when I first started at cc was all about the mtt for you how do you feel about sngs 45 mans or such, you can use your mtt skills in them?

I do much better in 18 man than 9!

It is one of the options to consider and my coach used to play them primarily and still coaches them - so I am sure that will be part of the discussion.

So guys I just hit Silver Star status for the 1st time ever!

I didn't really play that much after that one week where variance got me.

I needed like 30 VPPs to hit silverstar so I played some ring games
Ran cold and lost like 10 bucks and still needed 4 VPPs

Moved up to 100NL for just one rotation hoping to just eat the 1.50 and hit Silver so i could go to bed

hit pocket queens on the button, raised it up to 3.5, BB called

flop was QJ6
villain led out 5$ I popped to 20 hoping to end it he re popped, I insta shove he calls

Flips over pocket 66 and I win a 200$ pot and hit silver status in one very pretty hand:p

Well, not a bad month, but not what I was hoping. Between AB and FT I made $75.15 profit, ~$40 rakeback, and took 24th in the 15K RTR Freeroll for $90 for a grand total of +$205.50.

Most of it was just trying to adjust to the style my coach is trying to get me to play I think. Well, that and just some nasty beats in bad spots. But the first graph is my AB (maybe I should go back to playing there!) and the second is my FT graph.

AB- 76 games, $87.90 profit

FT- 244 games, $-12.75 profit
