So has anyone any experience, will they just take back tourney money, will they maybe warn me, its just an error of judgement, anyone seeing the game would know no one set out to collude, it was just a silly comment.

Yeah, I would imagine you could get in trouble for it. Not saying you will, but it is possible. Everyone who plays these games for any amount of time knows that there is unspoken collusion at the bubble where the whole table gangs-up on the short stack. The key is UNSPOKEN collusion. What you did crossed the line when you verbalized it.

Ok, I agree this is "technically" not colluding, but is still bad form. Actually, since everyone else was already out, it more closely resembles chip-dumping, imo. And, that is def against every site's (at least the ones I know-of) TOS. If you wanna fold to him; fold to him. That's fine, but don't announce to the table that you "want him in". Makes it seem like there is a reason (team play?) you want him to cash.

Yeah, I would be very surprised if he is disciplined. At the very most I would suspect he'd get a warning e-mail or some such. Still, best to nip this type of stuff in the bud before he has multiple players reporting him for openly discussing strategy at the table; especially when it makes him seem like he is "for" another player while being "against" another one.

Im not trying to argue with you sixpeppers, what i did was wrong, but everyone keeps saying i should have been calling to win chips.

Yes i should have called to shut down the game, but another player only had 790, and I had 46'000, so i wasnt worried, it was a case of who was the last person out before 5 people won a DON...there was no way i was losing from this position.

But yes, with only another 500 or so chips to call, i would normally have called with any 2 cards..i just felt that I had every right to choose not to.

Still shouldnt have been commenting though, i accept that.

Other than feeling you have the right not to call, what is you actual reason in a poker sense not to do this? From what I've seen if support suspect something they generally ask you why you did something and in this spot it is pretty inexplainable. Given the collusion that is known to happen in these I wouldn't be surprised if support didn't take kindly to this.

The huge pot odds and your stack size make it an insta-call with any two. Even if he shows you AA, you're only a 4:1 dog, but the pot odds are far more, and losing would have virtually no impact on your chance of cashing.

Folding in this situation is not collusion since that would require an explicit agreement. However, it is a blatant soft-play that goes against the ethics of the game.

I think it is the fact that it could be the worse fold ever(along with the comment) is what screams soft play which is illegal and very much frowned upon as well.

Well then you soft played him, which is a form of collusion , which is against a sites TOS.

Also originally you said it was because you didn't want to throw away 470 chips, now it's because of your relationship with a player (you didn't like one of them). The reason has completely changed since it has been pointed out folding to conserve chips makes absolutely no sense. Why wouldn't you say what you are now claiming to be the biggest motivating factor, that you folded because you were favouring a particular player? I think most people will know full well why you didn't give the true reason.

I honestly wouldn't think you were undeserving of a ban for this simply because you lied about your motivation for folding at first (which you wouldn't do if you thought your reason for folding was acceptable) which suggests to me you were trying to cover something up.

Honestly saying you liked the guy probably helped you in this situation...IMO, if I Was sitting at the table and you hand't said that I would of assumed you guys were talking on some sort of instant messenger. This is why I stay clear of DoNs too much collusion. I had just started playing DoNs and was doing pretty well when I Was invited to join a ring of a few players who actually colluded to win these. I of course said no reported the players and ended my short tenture in DoNs cause I realized jsut how easy it is for ppl to one actually collude and two apear to collude. I honestly feel like you shouldn't be punished in the least and understand what you did. I've done it before liked a player through chatting and been kinder when it came to pots, but thats why I avoid chat now, makes me a far worse player.

If you wanted him to stay in because you were going to target the small stack, you could have called and folded to any bet, or just folded, said nothing and moved on. Saying what you said, I would report you without hesitation. Theres a lot of people I like and dislike in poker, but I never play soft because I 'like' someone.
You really should know better than to make remarks like that and if you do get a suspension, you cannot say you dont deserve it.

This guy made a (not the right) decision. Stupid or not, it isn't/can't be collusion.

Once here at this forum I was playing a team game. Had auto fold on. Got quads. Really didn't think I would get a river call and I wanted to show my quads to the (friendly) table, so I checked the river. Wasn't so friendly after that. Suddenly I was some sort of cheater. They couldn't figure out JUST what kind of cheater I was, but that didn't stop the beat down.

Moral: Sometimes stupid is just stupid.

Yep, ^This, so much this. Sites should, they won't of course, but they should monitor and ban players using Skype/teamviewer type software. It is absolutely prone to collusion.

Yes, I folded because i wanted the other shortstack to get knocked out, instead of this particular one...lets get something clear though, folding my blind is not the same as say, calling a bet with the intention of folding to a small bet later..

Ive been pretty open, and while of course I deserve to get comments about it not being very bright, especially to say what i said in the chat, we are all human, and i simply made a mistake because of the way one of the players had been acting.

I didnt collude or cheat, but I do accept that it was naive and silly.

Thanks for all the comments, i will put this behind me and learn from it.. but i don;t consider myself a cheat...
