it really sucks been the bubble boy, but it happens all the time, literally. I've being there myself

if you lost doing the right thing, thats poker!!! but if you tried to bluff to steal the blinds LOL you deserved it.

in your case if you has pocket Aces you did good!!! but you got to be sure who could be calling your all in!!! because if you have a big stack after you, he might call just for the return on his money. and if he looses the hand it really doesnt matter to him. usually are those who will get lucky.

good luck next time

If I had Aces like you did I would have done the same thing. wsop circuit event last year is my bubble story. I win the hand I have a top 10 chip stack. I lost and was out in 63rd. Do I regret it? Nope. I played to win and sometimes you just lose.

If you’re scared to play Aces on the bubble, I’m not sure why you play poker.

Done it. Been busted on the bubble many times. And doubled up just as many times.

Some have said it happens. It does. It’s not a screw job by the site or anything else sinister.

If you too scared to play Aces and lose your stack, you’ll never ever make a big score. Keep playing your dollar buy ins and you’ll never have that problem.

And if your buy in is a dollar, why are you hesitating to play? I’d play pocket rockets at the casino for a dollar

Excuse me, but who are you talking to? No one said he was afraid to play a couple of aces. We all know what variance is and when it is against us in the bubble it is a bad feeling, but only that. Also nobody talked about $ 1 tournaments. You should check your answer, because it sounds a little derogatory

Yes of course few times, it feels a bit sad and disappointing especially if you've playing for a long time.

Has it ever happened to me? Yes, it happened to me a few times, bubble boy is the name. I don't like being the bubble boy simply because it means that you played well but not well enough to get a reward. Lost time and money.....the worst!

It happened to me thousands of times, but I remember one of the last, I have 72, on the table 729, the next move 2, I have a full house, I'm all in, the next move 7, on the table 72927, I have a full house 77722, and my opponent 79, ie full house 77799, here I had a beautiful bummer

It happened unfortunately.

Already happened coming too unfortunately, also with AA the villain with AQ left the flush for the villain was 285 that paid to leave missing 5 was not missing 1 player but I felt with the same frustration was in a MMT 4.40

Ive had a few bubbles this week

Losing with AA KK QQ hands that i cant fold cause the sb goes all-in with any 2 a good amount of the time... and them hitting it... lately its been like that and it sucks... but nothing you can do about it if you fold you might not see a good hand like that for awhile.. or you bleed to dead with the high antes and blinds... to answer your question though.. it really sucks to get a bubble the worst is on a ft bubble.... that hurted the most this week..

While I'm sure I have had numerous encounters with the dreaded bubble online I think the most memorable time was at a tournament one of my friends put on at his place when we were in our 20s. Although I can't quite remember the cards I had something like QT and tried to put pressure on the blinds by jamming only to be snap called by the chip leader with a strong poker pair lol..

Rough day at the office

Yes of course. This will happen, if you regularly play tournaments. I think, in the last one I had AK in the blinds with a 12 BB stack, BTN jammed on me, I called, he had J8, he hit an 8, and I was out.

Its not something, I get to worked up about to be honest, because often a mini-cash is less than 2 x the buyin. So I am more focused on trying to reach the final table and ideally the top 3-5, than how often I cash. And therefore while I make some adjustments, I am not going to fold AK preflop with a short stack, just because we are on the bubble.

tourney bubble, have pre-tourney coin-flip..

To take the anxiety out of it, before tourney starts flip a coin, heads, on the bubble, play to win, be a hero. Tails, play it strictly for the money when on the bubble. If it doesn't work out, you can blame the coin flipping gods, along with the poker gods.

Yea that happened a few times but I try not to be touched by it as much but I play only tournaments with a small buy in or freerolls, it still hurts though

But in the bubble the value of the prizes changes a lot between the first positions and the rest. Don´t you think it's better to take the risk to try to take a big prize than not to do it for a few dollars?

My thoughts exactly. I'm not going to sit there for a few more hours unless I have a good shot at a good prize. Getting my money back because I hang on for one more spot is not worth it. I would rather bust out and go profit on the cash tables. So I'm going to play decent hands in good positions and hope it works out. Sometimes it jumps me into a safer zone where I can relax a bit, sometimes it doesn't. So yes, I've been bubble boy many times. It isn't fun, but it's part of the game.

Yes, it happened a few times. Personally, in me, such moments cause anger and annoyance.

I would like to hear / read your stories, if this situation has happened to you, and how you felt about it. It happened to me recently, there were fifty prize-winning places and I lost in 51st place. The worst? I had a pretty decent stack, but I played all in for a couple of aces and I lost against a flush. But if I had won I would have doubled my stack. And you? How was it?

Yes I Have and it has happened alot to me... every time i think to my self i should of waited , not been dragged all in and why oh why did i bet on the pocket Ace's what a mistake lol Sh*t happens all the time...

Busted on bubble on Venom 4/6

Worst for me was just recently on Venom 4/6. I'd earned my way all the way up from bingo freeroll 1/6 and I think the top 10 moved on to 5/6.
I was running in something like 4th real close to the top of the chip lead, and another big stack gets put on MY table. He didn't have as many chips at this point as I did, but this guy was the typical donk aggro shoving EVERY hand, because their were only about 20-30 players left.
So I kept cool and folded - like a smart player. Never got a playable hand anyway.
Then - right at 12 left I get the best starting hand in all of poker yep - :ad4:A of spades
The aggro - does his thing - shoves pre - and I call - his stack being about 10k more than mine at this point because he was collecting all the blinds for several orbits.

Aggro turns over :kh4::8s4: DOMINATED!!

And guess what "RANDOM" cards come out?

:ah4::9s4::10h4::jc4::qs4:

And I'm out in 11th place. Another small stack I guess busted before I did.

So be it - I WILL NEVER FOLD POCKET ACES pre - NEVER.
