I've been playing very tight, and the most recent hand I played was a multiway pot where I limped from the SB and got stacked with set over set. That was about 2 orbits ago.

pokerstars GAME #8195057431: TOURNAMENT #41786209, $20+$2 HOLD'EM NO LIMIT - LEVEL IV (50/100) - 2007/01/30 - 11:30:45 (ET)

piperoller: calls 1650 and is all-in
ChuckTs:.........

Now piperoller's raise is a little scary to me, but it could very well be AT+ or a smaller pair. Then again it could be AA or KK...

What really gets me, though is RockShock's smooth-call preflop, then push to my reraise. I repopped piperoller's raise to isolate my hand in hopes to get it HU, but RockShock's reraise was really odd. I was pretty sure of what hands make this play; just want to know what you guys think of it.

I think you gotta give it up, you may be ahead but against 2 others the chances of jacks holding isn't very good. Your best case would be the both have under pairs or they both have AK. But that's not likely. There is a good chance they either have 3 overcsards or one has a bigger pocket pair than you.

seems like a pair smaller than JJ. you're probably behind rockshock or at best racing with his AK but I think you can call here. still a nasty spot though. I don't think many 29/18/2's smooth call QQ + to one raise preflop

We're calling 2k into an effective pot of round about 6k. Getting 3-1 I can't fold this.

Generally, the pf minreraise and the call-shove mean either donks who are (a) very strong, or (b) have something marginal. I would actually be pretty surprised if either showed something like AK here, as that sort of hand lies between the two. The fact we're getting 3-1 coupled with the fact that we can put a lot of weaker hands in our opponent's ranges here because the play is so bizarre means we have to call and expect both players to show AA-22 or ~QJs. Of course, whatever villains have their play is absolutely horrible, heh.

When you made that raise to 2.2k you were in essence commiting your stack, for better or for worse.

you cant fold half your stack with a hand like this. if he trapped you with aa/kk then so be it, but you tend to see that type of play from small pairs too.. so i dont think throwing it away is an option

wrong one to worry about

I wouldn't worry about rockshock - his betting pattern screams "low/mid pair" to me. He flat calls a small raise (wants to see flop for set value), then shoves against a large raise (wants to isolate against AK/AQ). It's a very typical play, and a small PP is the most likely explanation for his hand.

Piperoller worries me. He could easily have AA/KK/QQ, and at a minimum I think you're coin-flipping with him.

You still have to call - it's 3:1 odds with 1/2 your chips already in there - push and pray, dude.

My hand range for him was ~44-99.
As zebranky said, it reeeally smells like a small/medium pair. Not much to add to his post.

As for the BB's reraise, it could have been near anything. I think Chris summed it up pretty well - it either means great strength (AA-QQ, AK) or something very marginal (in this case, KQ). I decided that I was well ahead of rockshock, and pushed the rest of my chips in in hopes of winning a big side pot, and hopefully the main pot aswell:
