Sometimes there has to be a few "fill-ins" for fighters who get injured etc., but Dana & the Fertitta brothers don't just pick guys who don't deserve to be there. They do their scouting & research & pick the very best guys that have a chance to put on a good show & someday become a champion.

Or... y'know... guys who will "just bleed" :p

It's true though, the talent pool has been stretched REALLY thin with the amount of cards they're putting on this year, and the quality of the PPVs (along with buyrates, by all accounts) has been pretty damn bad.

Champions getting endlessly injured doesn't help either, of course...

You really think so? I think the opposite. If you really watch the other MMA leagues & the fighters in the fights, they are no comparison to the UFC fighters OR the fight quality. UFC fighters are the best out there, have the best trainers & staff, are in the best shape & give the best quality fights. So, if you look @ the big picture, the fighters & fights have been good (compared to everywhere else).

i dont understand when people say there are too many fights, thats like being too good looking or having too much money

i do think people like watching people fight that they recognize, and with more fights thats more difficult

and someday when khabib nurmagomedov fights conor mcgregor you will be tanking dana -tanking him for the expanded cards bringing the likes of those 2 fighters

Compared to everywhere else, maybe. That's why I don't bother watching everywhere else (I don't even get the time to catch that many UFC events).

Here's the thing though - "everywhere else" is generally free to watch, compared to the UFC which is still asking you to spend big money on PPV. I'm certainly not alone in thinking that a slightly better product still isn't worth the huge jump in price, as the PPV numbers of recent history show...

I agree it's definitely a huge jump in price for their events as compared to others. But I think (just my own opinion here) that the quality of fighters & fights are there & is worth it.

I'll be definitely watching UFC. I hope both Hunt & Gastelum get victories. Gastelum has been one of my favorites since he was in the TUF competitions.

The Bellator fights will be getting some decent ratings because of their ME. I'll be checking in live stream to get updates.

Glad to see Gastelum get the victory. He's heading towards getting the belt.

I think Hunt had the chance to win that fight when he knocked down Werdum early in the 2nd round.

I feel terrible for Leslie Smith. Holy shit was that punch to the ear nasty or what!?

Here's the article>>>Leslie Smith ear

It's pretty graphic but check out the video...

*shudders*

That is some nasty, nasty business.

Disappointed Hunt didn't get the win but I'll take the silver lining, based on the first round I think I was still right to take a punt on him paying over $4

There were a lot of exciting fights last night. The Pickett vs. Camus & the Wiman vs. Vallie-Flagg were my 2 favorite.

Here are the results:

These 2 girls put on a show!! This fight could've been on the main card.

I can't for the life of me understand why they keep burying the strawweight fights on Fight Pass, when it's the brand new division that they're trying to build interest in...

This fight card is stacked, packed & all that!

Really lookin' forward to seeing the Browne vs. Schaub fight!

I'm hoping for wins by Pettis in the Co-ME & for Lawler in the ME.

I reckon this goes the same way as the first one, likely a close and entertaining fight but Hendricks gets the win. Neither fighter has really changed anything about their style in the interim, and they're both familiar with each other from the previous fight so they'll be well prepared. Like last time, I expect Hendricks will likely land a few more takedowns and that'll be the difference maker on the scorecards.

As for Pettis-Melendez, I'll believe that fight is actually happening once they finally close the cage door. Still almost two weeks away, lots of time for Pettis to get injured again.

Vanzant x Curran must`ve been the only Female MMA fight that the two fighters didn`t look like lesbians.
