But look. They can check that we didnt play in the same tournaments and in the same table.
So why it is problem? Why for example you dont agree with it.

I believe that pokerstars will completely check it snd they will reopen my account.
Because I am sure that there is no reason to close it.

I think they will too, but I just think it provides people with an easy way to cheat.

How many people today play from their smartphones using their data plans (with location turned off)? You could literally have 8 people together in the same place at the same time playing the same cash game or STT against one victim and nobody would be the wiser. Or, 8 people playing together in different locations collaborating using chat software. Or 8 people playing together in the same room each using VPNs with static addresses. Or 8 people playing together in the same room using different internet connections (hence different IP addresses). There are a gazillion ways to cheat, and professional thieves are going to be pretty sophisticated about how they do it. Why shut down the thousands (or tens of thousands) of family members who would like to legitimately play poker in the same household?

Don't be ridiculous. The only people cheating are the ones on the same IP who type in the chat box "we are cheating".

^ umm actually i think his point was that people who are going to be cheating aren't going to be dumb enough to use the same IP with how easy it is to get a VPN.

the real question is, if pokerstars needs access to your mic and camera, and you're on your phone, can't they tell who's doing what, anyway? ;)

poker stars can tell if you are using a VPN, and will contact you when they detect it.

New email from Stars:

Hello Paul,

Thank you for your e-mail.

*

There is no problem with having family members creating their own accounts, however if there is a problem on one of the members accounts, due to your close relations, the chance your account will becomes restricted until the issue on their account is resolved is high. This is so you do not access each others accounts until the issue is resolved.*

We apologize for any inconvenience caused.

Well, looks like they opened a little door for you.
I had a similar problem with PS because I had an old account that I almost never played. I opened a new one just because I forgot the password. When I tried to make my first withdraw in my new account, which I was using for a year, they blocked it. The worst thing its that they froze the account where I had money and left the old one, with 0 cents, unblocked.
After a a long series of emails, where I explained that I never use both at the same time, and my old one was inactive for a long period, they moved my funds to the old one and let me play.

I suggest you to ask them what the problem is that they are mentioning, and what you could do to solve it.

Maybe you can have a hope yet.

Just one more comment: Accusing a person who you don't know to be cheating is not OK. Period.

Possible situation to detect the same IP address which can be automatically detect the 2 players playing through same IP. but always you can file a dispute on their decision and get it resolved. hope they can get the fact and activate your account. Cheers.

But it is interesting that his account is still open, only my is frozen.
And it is interesting that he plays very little on stars. Maybe 1-2 times per months for a small money. I asked him.
So I still.dont understand where is the problem for Stars.
And why his account is open and my si frozen.
But we will see. Maybe it will be solved.

Stars will sort you out once you provided them with enough evidence to prove that you and your brother are separate persons. Once they verify this they will reinstate you.

It is possible for two persons to play from the same household and same IP it is totally legal and not against Stars TOS. I suggest contacting them every other day on this matter until it gets sorted sometimes they just forget you, if you are able to login into client use the live chat feature it is available day time hours in US EST.

They will put a restriction on the accounts though in terms of sit n go and cash games you two just can't play at same cash tables or in same sng. I remember there being a limit on small field mtt as well like any under 90 participants they must have done away it.

Please see below directly from Stars:

Playing with friends or family

We are happy for friends, relatives, and acquaintances to play at the same table as each other.
However, please consider:

  • You are expected to play just as competitively against your friend as you would against any other player, and you must not share any information about the cards that you hold with them or make any playing agreements in secret (doing so is collusion, which is strictly prohibited).
  • If you have an agreement to share a bankroll, stake, or split profits with your friend, then in the interest of game integrity, you must not play at the same cash game table or in the same Sit & Go tournament.
  • Players who live in the same household, whatever their relationship, must not play at the same cash game table or in the same Sit & Go tournament.
  • In some cases, this restriction will be imposed automatically by the game software.
  • This restriction does not apply to scheduled Multi-Table Tournaments (MTTs) or 2-player heads-upmatches.

Try this method: open the PokerStars client (you can do it without logging in); select next steps: More>help>log Files>Send. Do it with your brother's poker client. Be sure to report this to the PokerStars support service. Security will check the data for similarities between the log files of both poker clients.

Maybe a longer time ago. In some really big MTT, I am not sure. But I am sure that we didnt play in the same table. I explained everything to Stars and I am waiting for solution.

I would love to play with 4 or 5 family members at the same table from the same location. It would be just like a home game with a couple strangers. Why not? Let the poker website computers determine if anyone is cheating.

In home games, you can play with your family members, but in games for money with fewer than 48 participants, you are not allowed to play. All family members who have participated in the game will be blocked.

We're brothers in misfortune. I have also problems with PokerStars.COM. And so far I have achieved nothing good in my favor. But I do not despair and continue my struggle.
You will have a long way in your fight. But don't give up the job. To prove your case can only be assertiveness.
